Days Before Enlistment

They had a small gathering with Yook's family, Park's family, Btob's maknae lines and Red Velvet members. This was Joy's idea for her boyfriend. Eventhough she looked fine, Sungjae knew that actually she's not. She tried to smile but the smile did not reach her beautiful eyes. He knew very well she's holding herself from crying. He remembered his conversation earlier when she went to the toilet.

Irene: Sungjae ya, you notices right? How my Park Sooyoung act today? She is so silent and gloomy.

Sungjae: Ara, noona, yes..I notice it...but, can you help me noona?

Irene: Sure, what it is?

Sungjae: I will text you later the details and I hope you can help me.

Wendy: Aigoo, don't tell me we need to entertain her on behalf of you during your enlistment?

And everyone laughing out loud.

Sungjae: It is kind of similar noona. I am sorry but I hope you can do me the favor. Can you Yerim and Seulgi noona too?

And they were all nodding their heads, agree to his request for the sake of their member.

And he remember what her father told to him before he left.

"Good luck and do your best adeul on your training! I know this is not an easy decision for you.. well for me too, cause I know Sooyoung will feel very sad during your absent.. but always take care of your health and be my legal son in law faster! I can't wait!"

He hugged Sungjae tightly before continuing his words.

"Do something to my Sooyoung before you leave, I know my daughter very well, she is holding herself now,"

"Arasso abeonim, I will.. Don't worry. Take care of yourself too and yeah I can't wait to be your son in law too!"

Back to present....

She is preparing to go to sleep when Sungjae comes out from the bathroom.

"Sooyoung ah, you want to sleep already?"

"Yes, oppa, good night," and she covers herself with the blanket before pretending to sleep.

Yes. She may be selfish to ignore him lately and the fact that they only left a few more days together. But she can't help it, for her this might be the best way.

Sungjae does not reply to her night greeting and lays himself besides Joy.
She is facing him with her face cover the blanket. He knows that she is not sleepy yet. He knows it so well. His Sooyoung is hiding her feeling to not let him worry. He lets out a small sigh and facing her. He holds her head and put it in his arm. His other hand is stroking her hair softly like he always did.

After a while, he hears a small sobbing from her.

She tries to not let her tears falling down, but she fails.
