ACT 1

DILUC WASN'T EXPECTING to find such an ancient yet well-preserved claymore in the middle of the whispering forest. He's gone through this path in multiple occasions, why is it the first he's come across this? It certainly isn't something you'd miss.

It was extremely out in the open. It almost seemed like it was begging anyone who came across it to simply, well, pick it up. Diluc was sure this was most likely dropped off by someome recently, as he's extremely familiar with the area. But who in their right mind would throw away such fine weoponry? It was most definitely in a state to be sold for a high price.

But, alas; whoever left it here left so in purpose. Diluc grips the handle of the claymore and pulls it off the ground with ease. It was only when its blade left the rich soil could he really observe the heavy weopon in its full glory.

The blade is extremely sharpened, so sharpened it seemed like it would be able to cut air. The handle up to the cross-guard were spiked with a material that seemed like silver, its blade a black that seems like charcoal left over from a blazing inferno and lastly, a single crimson gemstone that almost seemed sentient. As if all Diluc could feel from it were...perhaps confusion? Maybe excitement--no, it was rage.

Diluc shrugged it off, seeing it as a simple tiredness from not getting good night's sleep in the last few days.

With no sign of the sword's sheath, Diluc predicts he might need to to orde a custom one instead. The thought of it seemed tiring as he releases a dissatisfied sigh out of what can only be presumed as habit.

Upon returning back to the dawn winery, he couldn't help but notice the carvings on one side of the blade. It was written in an ancient language that he couldn't decipher.

"Sir."

Diluc turned to the familiar tone, meeting eyes with his long-time butler.

"Amazing, where did you find that?" He points at the claymore Diluc has gripped on his side.

"The whispering forest," he answers. Upon hearing the amused laugh of the loyal servant, he faces Diluc with his usual smile. "That claymore's a heirloom. It went missing under the hands of your grandfather, it seems you have found it."

Diluc's eyes slightly widen at the information, but returned to its normal state within a blink of an eye. "Is that so?" with a hum, he presents him the side with small characters that appears to be ancient writing. "Any idea what this says?"

With an observant stares, he shakes his head. "Unfortunately I don't, sir."

Diluc lowers it back to his side. "Write a letter to Lisa. Request for it to be deciphered." Diluc hands the claymore to the butler, to which he noticeably winches from the weight. "When you finish writing the contents of the writing to the letter, leave it at my office." And with that, he leaves the manor. Most likely to return protecting Mondstadt in the dark of the night.

𓅫

It's been two days since the letter has been sent. Diluc flops down to his cotton sofa that's probably worth more than my tuition fee as he stretches. He's been working non-stop and required a much needed break. But knowing the male, he'll politely disagree and throw himself to a volcano for 'justice' or whatever.

He hears a knock through his oak doors and replied with a simple 'come in'. With that, a familiar silver haired servant walked in with a letter neatly presented in a silver platter. A rich people thing, I don't know. Diluc hums, already aware the letter was most likely Lisa's response. Diluc didn't need to say anything as his servant simply cut the top of the letter open and presented Diluc with scented paper, to which Diluc accepted.

"I'll be on my way," The male bows before walking towards the doors and closing them behind him. Diluc was left alone in his office with a giant sword, a letter, and the tiresome thing called existence. Haha, jk.

He unfolded the piece of paper and read the contents. It started off with a greeting and Lisa making it awfully clear Diluc now owe her for the favor, which was to be expected. His eyes glances to the claymore rested on the side of his desk, and expecting a sheath by tomorrow morning. With that in mind, he read the deciphered contents of the letter out loud.

"every breath
you take shall
remind you of
every breath
you've taken."

Diluc raises a brow in confusion. "So it didn't mean anything important, after all." that was until he spotted a glow in the corner of his eyes. His body instantly jolted towards the direction of the light source, his mind going full battle mode. With his hand gripping on The Wolf's Gravestone, he prepared for what was to come.

With that, transparent like hues seemed to have slip through the crimson gemstone like a river. The movement was consistent, yet didn't seem to stop. As if you were pulling on a string of yarn and it never seemed to end. Except it was like. All glowy. What looked like ghostly ribbons seeping through a gem eventually formed a figure-- a human figure.

Dilus gasps as his red eyes meets [ e/c ]. Their eyes seemed like it had slept for thousands of years awake. Like being in a world devoid of color, sounds, feelings. As if it was numb. He couldn't tell what kind of anger their eyes seem to express so vividly, but there was a sense of familiarity. As if he's seen those exact eyes somewhere before. Perhaps in a reflection.

What felt like 20 years summed up in a mere 20 seconds, the ghostly being spoke.

"What the fuck."
