Fated To Be Yours [On Hold]

Chapter 3

Kiara's POV:
Waking up with a hangover can never be good. Shutting my alarm off I got out of bed to get ready for office. Looking at my droopy eyes I chide myself for partying on a weekday.

Learn to hold your horses and party only on weekends!!!!

Somehow getting ready, I descended the stairs and reached the kitchen to get some black coffee. "Ahhh, seems like you had a fun night and even a funnier morning!!" It was then that I noticed my dad shutting at the kitchen counter with his breakfast. "Isn't it too early to be sarcastic especially when you know I am having a killer headache" I ask pasting a wide fake smile.

Letting out a laugh my dad motioned me to sit next to him. Then I noticed that he had made black coffee for me. As I was eyeing the coffee I heard him say "no sugar, strong black coffee just as you like" he even scrunched his face I guess imagining the bitter taste making me laugh.

I remember when he tried it from my mug for the first time and literally spat it out. Oh boy!!... It was so fun to watch his reaction that I won't mind having a replay sometime.

My dad cleared his throat and before he can begin I cut him off "Dad, I know what you wanna talk about but I have a really important meeting today I will promise discuss it once I am back from office." Gulping my coffee while trying to not burn my throat I ran out of door ASAP.

So basically dad clearing his throat means a conversation which he knows I don't wanna have.....and know what it must be this time I decided to make a run for the door trying to postpone it as long as I can. Knowing dad it won't be too long.

I reached my office all ready to salvage back the project we lost the other day. After some hard work by my team and I and the longest meeting ever we were finally able to get the deal back which we almost lost.

Returning to cabin I started working on some upcoming projects and looked at the some files. I was fully engrossed in my work when I heard someone knocking at the door.

"Come in." I looked up to see Naina, my assistant standing there.

"Yes?" "Well, there's someone to meet you. They are sitting in conference room right down the hall." I am confused and I just opened my mouth to ask her who is there as I don't really have any meeting or anything when she closed the room saying...."Also your phone's ringing....pick it up."

At the exact moment my phone rang. I have her a damn suspicious look accompanied by a deadly glare when she smiled sheepishly and left....kinda running for her life.

I looked at my phone to see dad calling and it was in this very moment I felt a conspiracy going against me. Oh God please save me!!!
"Yes dad."
"Well Kiara, you see we didn't get to talk today in the morning right..." he trailed off. "Yes, and?" "And you know I told something to you right...." "Yes, dad can you please come to the topic I have someone waiting for me." "Well you see I know who's there to meet you and I can assure you he won't mind waiting for a few moments if it saves him from the Lucifer inside you."

"Look dad just tell me what is going on, right now without beating around the bush."

"Okay so I know you said you will think about your marriage to Kabir and I thought since you two haven't met each other, you should and what I am trying to say is that I have sent Kabir to the office to meet you. Please meet him before taking any decision." He rambled so fast that it took me a moment to decipher it.

I am fuming mad at dad. Taking a deep breath before I could think of something I heard him say "Also, I know you have no meetings today so now please go and meet him and please don't take your anger on him he doesn't know that you don't know that he is coming to meet you." Wowwww!! Talk about confusing here. I feel bad for making the guy wait as he is not really at fault. It's our fathers who are the root of this. So, calming myself I exited my office to meet the guy, Kabir.

But not before glaring Naina "You are so dead.....just remember you work for me not for dad." I just left Naina's desk when my phone beeped.

Say sorry to Naina she did what I asked her to do. No need to take it out on her. I know you well enough to know you would have threatened the poor girl.- Dad

Turning to Naina I told her " Look I am sorry but a warning would really be nice next time you decide to gang up with my father." She gave me a sweet smile and I felt guilty.

I entered the conference room and damn it!! This was not what or rather whom I expected.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Well lemme tell you he's the same man from the pub last night, not the pervert but the one who tried to act like my knight in shining armour but I failed his try miserably. Well no denying he is damn handsome in his black pants, blue shirt and brown formal shoes.

"Ummm.....I guess your dad must have told you." Well he is very soft spoken completely different to his angry avatar last night. Well good thing I don't like stuck up men. You see really high standards here.

"Yeahhh...... So do you wanna talk here or somewhere else?" I can be a socially awkward butterfly because this is the first time I am meeting someone for marriage so don't judge me.

"Ummm...let's go somewhere else and talk about this. Office isn't really the most appropriate place for this conversation I reckon." Well him ummm shows his nervousness and not to sound sadist but I kinda enjoy having an upper hand.

"Yeah, cool let's go to a cafe nearby then." We exited the office and reached the parking lot.

"Ummm...you can drive with me and I'll drop you off once we're done. Only if you don't mind."
The speed with which he added the last sentence made me laugh and I asked him to proceed towards his car.

Hopefully by the end of this meeting I can stop this ummm habit of his and cut some slack to the poor guy.

Guys I am so sorry for the delayed updates but you all will have to bear with me due to my exams and diwali.
