After a few weeks of boiling frustration, Wave finally calmed down. He re-emerged from his house and was very drowsy. He called Chick later on. “I don’t know what you should do. Maybe come onto the show, though.” Chick said. Wave sighed and agreed to go on the show.
Wave told Solomon to saddle up the trailer and to get going to the studio. In the trailer, Wave thought about his actions a few weeks prior. And for the first time since turning against his friends, he started to regret his actions. He arrived at the studio and left his trailer.

“Welcome back to Chick’s Picks with Chick Hicks! I’m your host, former and forever Piston Cup champion, Chick Hicks!” Chick introduced his show. “Joining me today is my friend Wave Crashentyre!” Wave joined Chick on set. “How’ve you been?” Chick asked. “Not good, Chick.” Wave replied.

Time on the set flew by. After the interview, Wave had some remorse time. He then wanted to call Michael in hospital. Reluctant at first, he called.  “What do YOU want?” Michael asked. Wave said in a slowed voice, “I want to see how you are.” “I’m fine!” Michael replied, hanging up the phone. Annoyed, Wave put down the phone his end. He sighed. He knew he lost a friend.

When Wave arrived in Emeryville, he immediately sped towards his house, where he would not be seen for a few days.

When Wave emerged, finally, from his house, he decided to return to his trailer. He wanted to visit Radiator Springs. During his time in his house, he thought about what he had done. And he did not like it now. He asked Solomon to take him. Solomon said “I’m not sure you’ll be welcome, but I’ll still take you.”

Wave and Solomon set off for Radiator Springs. On the way, however, they visited a local paint shop, where Wave had his design removed and replaced it with a casual blue.

They reached town, and was immediately confronted by Lightning McQueen. “What are you doing here?” Lightning asked. Sighing, Wave explained himself, ending with “I am sorry, Lightning, for everything I’ve done. I just thought that being a racer for them would help me, but it didn’t. I lost three best friends because of this, and I doubt that Michael would forgive me. But would you?”

Lightning looked at Wave, realising how sorry he was. “You know what, I'm willing to give you another chance, Wave. And I’m sorry for the things I said to you on the TV as well.” They smiled and reunited properly. “How about Michael?” Wave asked. “Well ask me yourself!” A voice came. Michael, despite being damaged, approached Wave with a forgiving face.
