He's been blind his entire life, but he's in no way disabled. Through the years he's learned how to walk and run without a stick, and even fight. He wears a blindfold to hide his eyes which look like this, because he has powers. His powers also enhance his senses, giving him the ability to fight and see through the ground he walks on. (Actually he's kinda like Toph, but on a smaller scale)
