I woke up to a buzzing underneath my pillow causing me to groan. Wanting to be a pro hero comes with its downside, I can never sleep in anymore and I'm not a morning person. I let the buzzing stop, smirked and kept my eyes closed. I felt myself drifting off again when the buzzing started up once more startling me. I took a deep breath and reached for my phone.
"Hello?" I answered with a groggy voice.
"Dumbass! Where the fuck are you? You overslept again didn't you?!?" Yelled an irritable voice.
"Well good morning to you too Bakugou," I said with a very annoying sleepy voice.
"Morning? YOU DUMBASS HAVE YOU EVEN LOOKED AT THE CLOCK?" Bakugo boomed into the phone causing me to pull it away from my ear. I turned to look at the clock. 12:25pm.
"Shit!" I hissed
"Yeah! Shit indeed dumbass! Now if your ass isn't out here in 5 minutes! I'll blow your whole building down!" He screamed and hung up, leaving me in a state of panic and a dial tone. Like I said I am not a morning person. I jumped out of bed and stumbled into my closet grabbing my hero suit. You know moments like this I wish I had a quirk to freeze time. Instead I was blessed with the quirk fatigue. Whenever I put someone in a tense embrace, I can take their energy and take it for myself until they are too tired to stay awake. I always say that it's because of my quirk that I'm not a morning person, because all I want to do is sleep. I start putting on my tight backless long sleeve turtleneck bodysuit with the shoulders and hips cut off with a zipper in the middle. That alone is a mission of itself. I then quickly put on my white booty shorts with the sides laced up and deep purple frillies on all the edges. I then put on my thigh high garter belts. Once I secured the garter belts I put on my see-through black tight on my right leg and on my left one frilly garter and another leather black garter belt that has a pocket attached. I quickly grab my leather black anti gravity boots and put them on stumbling into the bathroom. I look up at the mirror to start fixing my hair. Note to self-put on two more alarms. I roll my eyes at myself and put my dark brown hair in a high ponytail. I ran into my room to grab my phone and put on my short gloves and ran out the door grabbing a banana before I closed the door. I decided not to wait for the elevator and ran down the stairs. This is why I appreciate living on the third floor of my apartments. I slam out the building door and run up to Bakugou.
"Took you long enough," Bakugou said annoyed and rolled his eyes.
"Shut up, you know I struggle to wake up," I said as I peel open my banana.
"Well no shit, how do you expect to wake up early if you go to sleep at four in the morning? Fucking owl." He said as he pushed past me, "Let's go we have to start rounds and I won't be late on my first day because of a dumbass like you!" He yelled as he stomped ahead of me.
"You love me Bakugou!" I yelled with my mouth full of banana.
"SHUT UP!" He yelled back.
God, he has such a bad temper, but a lot of people misunderstand him. He isn't angry all the time, he is just a very intense and passionate person, but once you get to know him he is just a big teddy bear. I've known Bakugou since the first grade, as well as Midoriya. I keep walking behind him reaching a stoplight crosswalk, and wait for the light to turn green so we can keep going and NOT be late.
"What do you think Fatgum is going to have us do today?" I asked Bakugou as I continued to walk towards him and leaned on his shoulder.
"Probably just walk around patrolling all these weaklings or signing papers" He snarked, nudging my head off.
"I mean we are supposed to be protecting them, idiot," I said laughing a bit.
"Whatever." He said as he started to cross the street. We walked two more blocks until we reached the city. I continued to eat my banana as I observed everyone around me. I enjoy people watching, I've always looked at it as a training exercise. How? By truly being aware of people's actions, and if they correlate to their facial expressions. Are their eyes saying a different thing? I can read people like a book thanks to this, and it's helped me out quite a bit. I look up and the light turns green for us to cross the street. I wonder what our first day is going to be like. Everyone said their first days were different depending on the pro hero agency you attended. I'm grateful that Fatgum decided to take Bakugou and me into his agency. Fatgum is exactly what we need. I feel that we both need someone to mentor us that has overcome societal pressures and has recognized his true worth without the validation of others. Bakugou doesn't like to admit it, but he cares about what people think of him, and he needs to learn to forgive himself. As for me, well I need to learn to love myself. I walk up to the trashcan and throw away my banana peel.
"Hey Eli," said Bakugou glancing back at me, "what are you thinking about? You've been quiet." He slowed down so I could catch up to him
"Nothing, just wondering what today is going to be like," I said with a smile.
"It's probably going to be boring," he groaned.
"Yeah probably." I laughed under my breath.
"Like I said, I'm pretty sure that we are just going to be signing papers," he rolled his eyes. "I want all the action already, I want to blow things up!" He said as he made mini explosions from his hands.
"Yeah, right, Bakugou," I said laughing. "That shit doesn't happen," I said, crossing my arms and shaking my head. "You know what? I'll do you one better," I said putting my arm around his shoulders. "I'm so sure that nothing out of the norm is going to happen today that I'll buy you drinks after our patrolling." I removed my arm and stopped in front of him with a smirk flipping my hair and extending my hand out to seal the deal.
"Deal!" He said, shaking my hand tightly.
"RUN!" Screamed civilians pushing past Bakugou and me. A bright light blinded us for a second, and a loud explosion shortly after. I turned to see that it came from downtown. I turned to look at Bakugou befuddled. He turns to me and smirks.
"OH FUCK YEAH! YOU OWE ME DRINKS DUMBASS!" Bakugou screamed laughing in triumph and blasting himself into the air towards the direction of the explosion.
"You've got to be kidding me," I said, muddled. I tapped on my boots engaging their antigravity mode, creating a forcefield at that bottom that made me go faster as I chased after Bakugou heading towards the accident
