First Prep and Staff Meal

The next day, Sig changed into the Octavinalle uniform and started working at Mostro Lounge. Azul then introduced him to the other Octavinalle members. 

It was Saturday, so Mostro Lounge would expect a lot of customers the whole day.

"This is Sig Brachyura, everyone. He is not a student here, but he will be working as one of our beverage chefs and I would like all of you to be helpful and friendly towards him," said Azul.

"Roger, dorm leader!" 

"Jade and Ruggie, please show him the recipes of our drinks," 

"Roger, Azul!" said Jade and Ruggie together. 

"Come to the kitchen. We'll prep the ingredients first," said Ruggie. He first led Sig to the cellar, where all the ingredients were kept.

"The cellar has a spell, so it works as both a fridge and a normal storage room," explained Ruggie. Sig nodded.

Jade then showed him the crates of food.

"As you can see, each crate is labelled carefully," he said. Then he pointed at the label on a crate of whole chickens.

"We also put down the names of the dishes which the ingredient will be used. Look at this, the chicken will be used in Soy Sauce Karaage, Garlic and Rosemary Roasted half-chicken and Chicken Salad Sandwiches," he continued.

"Wow. It's so detailed. In this way people will be clear on what they need," said Sig.

"Yep. Now we need to start prepping ingredients for the drinks. Most of our drinks contain fruit, but we also have ingredients like sparkling water, grenadine and coke," said Ruggie.

"Ok. Show me what I need to do," said Sig.

"We'll put you in charge of Raspberry Lemonade, Coconut Limeade, Cookie Dough Milkshake, Cherry Vanilla and the Mystery Drink, since they're the easiest. Once you've mastered them, we teach you the others," said Ruggie.

"Ok no problem," said Sig. Though he was patting his chest and sounding confident, his expression remained blank.

Jade and Ruggie looked at each other with confusion upon seeing this.

"What's wrong? Did I say something?"

"Er...nope. Here are the recipe cards," said Jade, giving Sig five note cards, each for one drink recipe.

Everyone then went to their stations and started to work. Sig studied the recipes carefully and started prepping the ingredients.

For Raspberry Lemonade, he washed the raspberries,  pureed them and poured it into a plastic box. Then he squeezed hundreds of lemons to get the juices. Next he made a simple syrup by boiling sugar with water together until the sugar has dissolved. He then poured the syrup into a large jug.

For Coconut Limeade, Sig cracked open the coconuts and collected the water into a large jug. Then he squeezed hundreds of limes and stored the juice into another jug.

For Cookie Dough Milkshake, Sig crushed some chocolate chip cookies and whipped up some cream, which is used for decoration. He also refilled a plastic box with sprinkles, which are to be sprinkled on the cream.

For Cherry Vanilla, Sig washed, stoned and pureed the cherries with sugar. 

Finally, for the Mystery Drink, he removed slabs of red, yellow, blue, green and black gummies, which were made the previous day, from the moulds. He then cut each slab into 2x2x2 cubes, as instructed on the recipe cards.

Sig completed all of that within twenty minutes. He laid all the prepped ingredients onto the long table. Jade and Ruggie were impressed.

"Wow...did you do all of that alone?" asked Jade.
