The night we met

The stars twinkled you above us

As if they were giggling.

The waves of the sea were in perfect harmony with my heartbeat

The soft sound of the radio could be heard in the distance, but I was only focused on your smile some 10 yards away.

Wind blew against my face, hair obstructing my view. Though your smile was still visible for it was like the moon itself, so screne that it couldn't be hidden.

The drink in my hand was warm now, but I still took a sip.

You looked over at me and our eyes met. Your friends saw us stare and pushed you towards me.

That was 20 years ago.

Now, I still remember us dancing together, underneath the stars with our hands wrapped around each other.

I still smile when I hear your name; yet I sleep alone at night.

For how could anyone forget their first love?

How could I possibly forget the night we met?
