"Mr. De la Cruz." I swallow the lump on my throat, feeling nervous when I see that he was the one opening the door instead of Monty. "Uh, I'm here for Monty."

"He's busy." He spits at me and I can smell the alcohol from each breath he takes, which makes me worry about Mon since we were supposed to meet an hour ago. "I'll tell him you stopped by." He attempts to close the door on my face but I push it open and stroll inside the house before he can stop me.

I look around the house and see that there's broken glass all over the floor and Mrs. De La Cruz is passed out on the couch in the living room. My eyes widen when I accidentally kick something and that's when I notice a baseball bat on the ground with blood covering

Suddenly before I can even make an attempt to jog to Mont's room,  someone grabs a chunk of my hair and throws me on the floor. I hiss in pain when I land on my hip, attempting to stand back up but I'm kicked down again.

"I warned you to stay out of my business. I told you he was busy. I guess I'll have to teach you a lesson since your parents obviously haven't educate you well enough!!" Mr. De la Cruz shouts at me, grabbing a hold of my head and he smashes it on the ground a few times, my vision getting blurry. "You stupid whore!"

"Daddy?" A hear a cry from behind him and my heart rate picks up when I see Estella with a frightened look but it looks like he hasn't done anything to her. "What are you doing? She'll tell somebody. She doesn't care about you like us. You'll go to jail. Stop, please."

"Didn't I tell you to stay in your room, Estella?!" He yells at his own daughter, standing up from the top of me and taking dangerous steps towards her.

In fear of what he'll do to his younger daughter, I grab the baseball bat from the ground and I swing it at his leg, making him fall to the ground. He's drunk out of his mind, it doesn't take much for him to fall down.

"Go to your room, Estella. Lock the door and don't get out!" I tell her, seeing that he's trying to stand up from the ground. "Go... now! Go, Estella!!!" I yell at her, pushing her gently down the corridor and the little girl immediately runs down the corridor and into a room.

"You little bitch!" Mr. De La Cruz chuckles lowly, making me turn  around to come face to face with him. "You're going to tell the police about what I did?! To you and to my bastard kid? I'm going to make you pay!" He shouts at me and I get ready to swing the bat at him again.

The both of us stare at each other for a second and all of the sudden the time goes by slowly when he makes an attempt to walk towards me and I swing the bat at him but this time he catches it, yanking it from my hand and throwing it away.

My eyes widen in fear as he grabs both of my arms roughly and I try to get out of his grip but it's too strong this time. We stumble back into the living room area, where Mrs. De La Cruz is passed out, and I start to get scared for my life.

I know what he does to Monty, nearly killed him once...

Time stops as he slaps me across the face, my face whipping to the side and throws me away from him in fury. I close my eyes as I fall, my back filling with a piercing pain and a loud crash can be heard throughout the whole house.
