A Toast!

To new beginnings,

      in fear and faith

      and all it tinges.

To love is a dare,

      when hope and despair,

      are gates upon it hinges.

It was the moving day to Mew's house - or he could say theirs. Gulf was excited - at least he could feel that excitement as soon as he woke up from the bed. He could barely sleep; his mind was full of the thought of how he and Mew were suddenly here together.

A few months ago, when he returned to Bangkok for Liam's chemotherapy, he never thought about crossing paths again with his former husband, let alone getting back together. Never had he thought that destiny would bring them back together again.

For the past 8 years of his life, his focus was mainly on his kids. He did not even bother about himself. All he did was work every day, even on weekends, to provide for the twins. He did everything he could. He has worked every available job there, be it part-time in a cafe as a barista during the day or Grab driver using his late mother's old car at night, before he finally settled on being an assistant at a daycare. He took every job opportunity offered before he worked as the assistant where he could also be closer to his kids as he also sent the twins there.

His life started to progress well; his pay as the assistant was enough to provide for the basic needs of the twins. At least he did not have to juggle between a few jobs to get enough money for his small family. With that, he could spend more quality time with Lily and Liam, which he was really grateful for. He also managed to spare a few amounts of his monthly pay for saving; he definitely needed to prepare for the future.

Life is not always rainbows and butterflies; Gulf never failed to remind himself daily.

When he thought nothing could ever go wrong, God was being unfair to him again.

He always said, "I couldn't bear seeing kids out there at Liam's age being sick. It just breaks my heart."

Severe or fatal illnesses were something that happened to other people's kids until last year.
