"Shut-UP, Parker Miller? Summer camp Parker Miller!?" Jordan was practically screaming through the phone as I told her about the possibly worst date that I had ever been on.

"Yup, that's the guy" I said sounding a little too aggravated.

Jordan knew the Parker story already and why hate was an understatement for what I feel for that guy.

Basically when we were like 10, we went to the same summer camp together. We were friends and it was all fun and games until some of the campers decided to play spin the bottle.

Now, spin the bottle might seem like the most childish game ever but at the time it was a pretty huge deal.

I was sitting in front of Parker when he spun the bottle and it landed on me.

I smiled at him because I'd rather have had my first kiss by him than from anyone else in the room.

Everyone howled and started chanting "Parker and Audrey sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G"

I looked at Parker feeling somehow ashamed and extremely embarrassed. To make matters worse, Parker said "I'm not kissing Audrey, her mouth probably tastes like anchovies!"

As soon as he said that everyone moved on from the kissing chant to "Audrey kisses anchovies, Audrey kisses anchovies, Audrey kisses anchovies!"

From then on, nobody let it go for a long time and after a while it got really REALLY annoying.

One night, all of the campers (including Parker) somehow got ahold of two big buckets of anchovies and dumped them on me when I was sleeping. I woke up smelling like fish and feeling like crap.

my mom had to pull me from summer camp. It was the worst.

"Want to three way this conversation with Robert? That boy always has something deliciously evil to say"

I smiled because she was right. Robert could make the most beautiful things sound like the devils work.

"No thanks J, I think I'm just gonna take a walk and try and forget about him"

"Alright girl, do what you gotta do"

I actually did end up taking a walk. I thought a lot about how I might've overreacted a bit. I mean, it happened 10 years ago, and we were just kids.

But you know what. He didn't even TRY to say sorry. We were best friends and he couldn't even say sorry! Ugh, how can I forgive someone who wasn't even searching for forgiveness!?

I am so done with him.

As I started walking home, I felt a vibration in my thigh. I realized it was my phone and saw that it was my mom. She was probably wondering where I was so I answered.

"I'm not dead"

"That's not what I was calling for, but I suppose it's nice to know that my daughter isn't a corps so thanks for the update"

"What's up woman?"

"I was just calling to see if you packed all your stuff already. You know you leave in two days"

What the!?!

"What are you talking about??"

I was so confused!

"Audrey Contreras don't you dare tell me that you forgot about summer camp!"

"Mom what are you talking about? News flash, I'm too old to be in summer camp!"

"Obviously smartass, which is why you're going to be a counselor! Honestly Auds, we talked about this last month! I said I'd give you a 400$ shopping spree if you'd do camp! The camp has been needing more counselors and the head of the camp personally called to ask for help!"
