The Crash

I never liked this road. This is the road where it all started. Where my life ended, because I lost the closest person to me. My mother. Old Jefferson Street. It gave me the shivers, I still remember what happened that night. It's never going to leave my mind. It was going to be there forever.

Flashback

"Mom! It's not like that with me and Brad." She looked at me not convinced. "Whatever you say honey. He's pretty cute though. If you ever need some pills or condoms just ask." I looked at my mom, she looked so calm talking about this. "Mom! I'm not having sex with Brad. He is just a friend. I promise." My mom then looked a little convinced, but she still had a huge grin on her face. I couldn't stop looking at that grin. "Tessa! Watch out!", she screamed at the top of her lungs. I only turned to see bright lights. Before I knew it, I was laying on the concrete. I could only see blurs, but I squinted and everything came into focus. "Mom...Mom...Mom!", I screamed. I saw her, motionless, about 8 feet from me. Then I passed out.

End of Flashback

I couldn't help but cry. She was my anchor, my best friend. I got closer to where the crash happened and slowed down. The event had scarred me. I looked out of the window, tears building up in my eyes. Then I saw her. I saw her again. "M-mom?" She was the splitting image of her. She wore the same outfit. I blinked knowing it was my mind playing tricks on me. When I opened my eyes again she was gone.

I made it home and saw a note on the table.

Hey Pumpkin, I had to work tonight. I made dinner and put it in the oven for you. It's your favorite, Mac and cheese. Good night Pumpkin and don't let the bed bugs bite. ~Dad

'Awww' I thought. I went into the kitchen to warm up my dinner. 'Screech' . I gasped and turned my head to the hallway where the sound came from. "Hello?" I took a knife and headed down the dark hallway. When I made it to the stairs I heard the sound again. I walked up the stairs, gripping the knife. "Is anybody up here?" I got to my father's room and opened the door. I saw her again...my mom. "Mom? Mom s-say something, please." She just stared out the window at something. I inched closer to her, and she smiled. I couldn't help but smile too, it had been a while since I saw her smile. "I've been waiting for you, Sweetheart.", she said. I looked over at her again. "M-mom what do you mean by that." Then she put her hands on my neck, rage embedded in her eyes. She gripped my neck harder, as I tried to get away from her. "Mom.", I managed to choke out, before everything went black.
