"Don't you worry little buddy, your Daddy's gonna walk through that door at this time tommrow." I counseled the small child who was clearly itching to see the other parent. I ran my hand through my hair, then quickly placing a kiss on his forehead. "He even told me he's gonna bring you something really special."

At this, the child let out a happy giggle. I stood myself up, setting Jack in his play pen before going to attend to the door. I figured the unexpected guest was either a salesman or a preacher, but I didn't wanna be rude.

I swung the door open to find the best suprise of my life. "I'm at the right house, right?"

"RONNIE!" I squealed with excitement and jumped into his arms. "You're home early!"

"I couldn't stand being away from the two of you any longer." He gave me a passionate kiss on the lips before turning his attention to the nearing living room. "How's our little man?"

"He's been missing you." I watched with a smile as Ronnie picked up our son and held him tight to his chest. Instantly, Jack wrapped his arms around Ronnie's neck as his lips were pulled back into an excited grin. " And here's our little furry friend.

"Has he been behaving?" Ronnie asked me as he ran his hand over Spot's ears.

"Besides peeing on every single fire hydrant yeah." I explained with a laugh as I sat down next to him. I wrapped my arms around him and pecked his cheek. "You know I really missed you."

"Well now that this tour is over I'll be home for awhile." He said softly as he stroked my hair slowly. "I wouldn't wanna miss anything important in Jack's life. Oh I almost forgot." Ronnie paused for a second as he reached back into his suitcase and pulled out a stuffed animal as well as as Johnny Cash's record I Walk The Line. He placed the record in my lap, handing over the teddy bear to Jack.

"Aww Ronnie you didn't have to get me a gift." I said even though I was very appreciative that this peice of musical art was now in my hands again. I lost mine when I was seventeen and ever since then I've been kicking myself.

"Yes I did." He stated and kissed the top of my head. "It's what I do for the ones that I love. C'mon, play that record girl!"

"Alright hold your horses." I joked, causing Jack to giggle as he played with his new teddy bear.

"You gotta sing it too." Ronnie told me and I shot him a look. "C'mon little Jack wants to hear you sing again! Just to remind you I can be very convincing."

"You're lucky I'm happy to see you." I caved in, beginning the first verse of the song.

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

"So you got any ideas for the new Skynyrd album?" I covered myself up with the bedsheets and cuddled up to him. "Gonna make more Alabama's and free birds?"

"Well.." He trailed off as he lit up his cigerette. "You seem to inspire all my greatest songs, so as long as you're around I'll come up with something big I'm sure."

"Here to help as much as I can." I said quietly with my lips pulled into a smile, my gaze becoming lost in the sight of his eyes.

"Have I mentioned how much I missed you?" He asked, running his hand through my hair and pulling me into a kiss. "Cuz I did. It ain't the same falling asleep without holding you."

"Well you know I'm all yours tonight." I replied and gave him a few small kisses. "Now and forever."

"I love you Ella."

"I love you too Ronnie."
