Mom and dad didn't bother coming out of the castle to say goodbye to me. I signed and walked a few steps before gradually getting faster and faster until i was in a full sprint.I had to reach the Silver-wing manor before sunrise otherwise I would bring even more trouble to our name, to our safety.
I slowed down a bit as the manor came into view.That was when i saw them.Their faces completely covered among their cloak hood and darkness.I slid to a stop and turned to face the figures.They gave me one last look and disappeared in to the darkness.If any untrained person had been here they would have sworn that my shadower had made not a single noise but I heard them, the sound of two well trained assassins running.
Valiant's prov:
My feet barley touched the ground as I turned around and ran.My ears picked up the sound of my sister following me.Had the figure seen us? They had definitely heard us unless someone else was on their tail.
I skidded to a stop out side our manor in the main land slightly out of breath.
"Who was that? It wasn't someone from our keep." my sister said as soon as she had gained her breath back.
"I don't know Em,but I know for certain that I have never seen them before."
"Valiant!Emerald! what are you doing out there dressed in your Assassin clothes.get in this instant, you and the whole house hold know that if one just one person sees you it will mess everything ! "
My father stood at the top step looking down at us with a look that you have to obey.I knew it was dangerous to step out of the house wearing my assassin gear but it was part of me and I found it hard to leave the manor in the night without it.
After telling father about the unknown assassin,I left the hall way.My fathers warning ringing in my ear what ever you do son don't trust any other assassin but the ones of your keep. Failing to do so could get you killed specially as we are in the time of war.
I lay on my bed looking at the ceiling.Thinking about to-nights events. The lips of the assassin painted red standing out against their pale complexion,Their outfit,all showing they were female. In my keep there were less then five female assassins counting my sister.Three at most:My sister,my mother and auntie.Why was she here? that was the last question I could ask myself.Darkness had come to claim me.
Rose's prov:
I opened the manor's secret door and crept in.It lead me into a chamber.with richly decorated walls. weapons were every where:on stands,on the walls,in chests.I took all the blades from my body and placed it in their appropriate Stands. I slung my bow onto its wall stand along with the quiver full of unused, but in good shape, arrows.I traversed across the hidden weapon room into another where I proceeded to change out of the assassin gear into my night dress.all the while I was wondering how long had they been following me and why had they been following me.I had a feeling they knew I wasn't in their keep just as I knew they weren't in mine.
I crept past all the servants room into the main house up above. My maid servant and a few others knew about my position as an assassin after they had to help me one night when I got ambushed by a couple of the enemy keep allies.I was badly beaten and needed immediate help. They had kept it all a secret and promised not to tell my parents about the incident that had past and not to tell them what I was.
I didn't tell them that my parents were Assassins too worried of what might happen.I knew they would find a reason to why I had entered the house at this time in the night.My hand found the corner of my duvet and i pulled it back before climbing in.I welcomed the darkness and the warmth.
I was woken up by the voice of Emma my maid servant.
"Its time to wake up my lady!"
I sat up in bed for a moment before swinging my legs out and standing up.The sun shone through the window in streams of light blinding me for a moment.My mind brought back the images of the two assassins last night,If my mother not to mention my father found out I know that I would get more than a lecturer from them.
I smiled at Emma telling her I'll dress myself,with a nod she left telling me she would get my breakfast.She was a good girl,she knows what you need or want before you ask.She's loyal and that makes her the best friend I've ever had.She wasn't friends with me because of my money or because she had to,even if we had to put our friendship aside and had to act like servant and mistress. I've known her since we were ten she came to take her mothers place as a maid after her mother got murdered by the assassin mac-ruff, he was the right hand of the king Aethelweard. We never knew why she was was killed for all they had left behind was their keeps symbol and the mark of Mac-ruff.
I walked to my dressing table after putting on a long red dress. I pulled my hair out of its braids just as Emma returned with my meal.She placed dishes onto my dining table before coming over to help me with my hair.She braided part of it again after brushing it thoroughly before pinning it up in a halo around my head. I turned an smiled at her, before walking smoothly towards the food.Emma followed closely behind .
I pulled my chair out and motioned for her to do the same .It wasn't unusual for she had eaten with me ever since I can remember.Her Eyes gleamed with curiosity and I knew what was going to be asked.
"Eat, I'll tell later."
She nodded then began to eat.I followed her lead.
