Damian's POV

I waited on Charles, I front of the school.
I heard someone run up to me.
"Sorry! My teacher was telling something important in science" Charles said, catching his breath.
"It's normal, first week of school is a lot tougher, than you think." I said smiling.

We walked down to town. We talked about our school.
"I wish you were in my science, you should have seen Skye." Charles said
"She couldn't stop looking at Ryan, I don't know much about her. But I thought she had a boyfriend?" Charles said.
"Yeah, I mean, i don't really know. They're on and off. I'm just hoping, she'll find someone who's right for her, you know" I said
"Yeah she looks like a lovely person, maybe that's why she's trying so hard on Ryan." Charles said.

We walked into a cafe,
"I'm often there alone, but it's nice to be here with a friend" I said shyly to Charles who were staring at the food.
"Someone's hungry" I said laughing
"You can't say it's weird, I've never been in a cafe with such small amount of people." Charles said, still looking at the menu.
We sat down in the cafe. I was going to get a chocolate milkshake, and Charles took a Frappuccino.
"I didn't know you drank coffee." I said
"Hey! You just met me, there's a lot of things you don't know. I may be a serial killer" Charles said laughing.
I laughed with him.

"Tell me something." I said after a while of silence. He looked at me weird.
"What do you mean" he asked.
"Tell me something about, we're friends aren't we." I asked.
"Oh, let's just say my life is pretty normal. I have a dad and a mom. My sister is in the army." Charles said while drinking his Frappuccino.
"Tell me something about you too." He said to me.
"Well.. I have two mothers and a sister" that was the only sentence I had to say. Because of course Charles have heard about my family in the news.
"No way really! My parents wanted to move here because of your family. They said that Riverside, is a good and nice town." He said smiling.
"Oh. Then I'm happy that my mothers helped you to choose this place." I said.

When we were done drinking our coffee and milkshake. I showed I'm the rest of the city.
"C'mon I haven't showed you the lake, it's really calm" I said, taking his hand to drag him over there.
"I come here almost every evening, it helps me thinks." I said, with a sad voice.
There was some silence until Charles said something very surprising.
"You know, when I first got here. The lake was the first thing I saw. He said, with his hands in his leather jacket, looking down at the lake.
"But thank you for showing me this, it means a lot to me" he said while looking at me, with a beautiful smile.

I looked at him. It was here that I knew that I was going to come out, sooner or later. I was proud to be a part of the LGBTQ.
We both sat on a bench and looked at lakes, while the sun was slowly going down.
"Thank you, I haven't felt whole in a very long time, but then you showed up at school." I said still looking at the lake.
He didn't say anything back, he didn't have to, I knew that this silence meant a lot to him, and so it did to me.
"Yo know Damian" he said turning his face to me.
"I have something to tell, you but I can't say it right now, if you know what I mean." Charles said, with a shaking voice.
"Hey, Tell me when you're ready okay? I promise you I will never leave." I said.
"I don't know what you've been through to move to a little town like Riverside, but trust me, I have two mothers a charming sister. If yours funnier than that, I'm buying you a burger" I said trying to light up the mood.
He just laughed, and I'm happy to see him laugh, I don't know what he's been through, but it must be a scar for life. Since it makes him so sad.
After a while just talking and looking at the lake. We both went home, his mother was so nice to drive me home.

"See you tomorrow, and again thanks for the ride" I said p, with a smile.
I went inside to tell me parents and sister how my day went, and then just did my homework.

Charles POV.

We just got him. This day has been a really good day. I've hissed having days liked these.

"Say, Charles, Damian is a lovely guy" my mom said with a sly smile.
"Oh, shut up. He's really sweet, but he doesn't know anything about me or my life. He just know the basics." I said while sitting down on the couch.
"What did you tell him?" my dad asked with a stern voice.
"Nothing important just our family" I said.
I didn't want to say that we had a deep talk on the bench near the lake.
That was a moment for Damian and me, and only us.
I smiled to myself, thinking what he said, at the lake. He said that I make him whole.
"You make me whole" those 4 word repeated in my head, until I fell asleep.
