Recap:
Petal has just been caught by the New Dawn Pack. Now, Raya Feather and Devite Crow are deciding if they will allow her to stay, or if they will kill her."Petal, we have decided to let you join the pack" Devite said. Petal gasped "me? Join a wolf pack?" She whispered to herself. "But we have one more question" Raya Feather said. "What happened to your family" Petal winced and looked down, tears welling up in her eyes. "Th-they died"
Raya Feather winced, having sympathy for the young foxling. "You will sleep with us tonight." She said, nodding her head as if she was thinking about something. "And you will start training with us in a few moments" Petal looked up "training?" She asked softly. Raya Feather looked up at the Fox. "Yes, training. You need to learn how to defend yourself if you are going to live in this pack." Petal nodded "Okay" she said in a small voice, going to a small moss bed that didn't strongly smell like any wolves.
In almost no time at all, she heard Raya Feather call her "Petal, it's time to train." Petal stood up and stretched her stiff legs. Raya Feather walked out of the den, with Petal right behind her, and Devite Crow in the back. "This way" The Raya said, trotting along a small path.
She went to a clearing, surrounded by large trees. "Now Petal, I want you to run around the clearing, as fast as you can, five laps, then run back to me." Raya Feather said. Petal nodded and trotted to the outer edge of the clearing, which surprisingly seemed similar to her dream.
She crouched down for a moment, and then took off, sprinting. She felt all her worries melt away as she listened to the rhythmic pounding of her paws, the chirps and chattering of birds and squirrels around her. She pushed herself harder "this is a training run, not a joy run" She thought, frowning slightly as her legs sped up. She unconsciously kept her head in the same position, for what reason, she didn't know.
After a while of thinking about how she could've avoided this, and what might be next for training, she got snapped out of her thinking by Raya Feather calling her. "Petal! That's enough! You've done way more than five, you have probably done about ten!" Petal looked over at her, confused, then noticed the Ache in her legs. "Oh, sorry."
She trotted back over to the awed Raya. She looked over at Petal "Petal, do you know what your Jadu is?" She asked softly. Petal shook her head slightly "no Raya." She smiled "well I think I do." Petal looked at her, confused. "What is it?"
Raya Feather nodded at her paws. "When you were running, your paws started to glow. And you have such a large amount of stamina, your Jadu must have something to do with giving you stamina, and speed." Petal smiled slightly. "I have always been fast for a fox." Raya snapped back into her work mode. "Now let's see how strong that Jadu of yours is. Race against me."
Petal laid her head down in a moss bed with a sigh, her body still slightly aching from her training session. "How has my life come to this" she thought. As she drifted off to sleep, she thought she felt a warm, furry body wrap around her, and a soft voice whisper "great job today, you are amazing." Then she was out.
