VENNE'S POV

I literally starred at Dominick, who's starring back at me. Both of us are stubborn, and I doubt either of us will avert before anyone opens the conversation. So, I took the risk. "Risk" of starting a conversation? Well, usually they're minor things you can deal with in a matter of hours. But with this guy... you can never be sure.

"So, Donny," I used the little name I created for him. Most people say his full first name, "why the formal meeting all of the sudden? Fancy restaurant, limo, and even a dress... of my taste."

This is true. Donny, my arch enemy(if such a thing existed) has done all of this. He's paying me a meal at a five-star restaurant, ordered a limo to escort me to the place(he knows I'm not too good with adresses), and he designed a dress that I, of all people, will be willing to wear. The top part of it looks like a suit from afar, it has padded shoulders with a feathery decor on one side, studded all the way on the outer part of the loose turtleneck and with a vanishing effect on the bottom A-line skirt. What I love the most, the dress itself is black and loose. But of course, I'm not wearing it right now. I have on, instead, a T-shirt, black jeans, sneakers, and a sport jacket.

"I... I need your help with something," he managed to murmur out what's on his mind."Help? You, Dominick Crescent, need help from me, Venne Cato? Hahahaha... I never thought a day like this could come. At least, not in this lifetime."

"Stop it, Venne," he shrugged, his eyes averting to our surrounding, where a few people have heard out my laughing, "if I needed help for anything you're my last option, in a matter of speaking, but for this particular matter, you're the only one I can think of who won't let me down."

Okay, this has got to be interesting. For Donny to trust me with a secret of his is rare. Actually, it's never happened, for even if I do know his secrets, it's usually because I figured it out myself. He's never been the discreet type, at least not in my eyes. Funny thing, though, since what's obvious to me about him can be so hidden to others.

"So, then, what is this matter you're talking about?" I tilted my head, a natural gesture I make when I'm in deep thought, or deep curiosity.

"It's about..." he stops, bites his lower lip, then makes a gesture for... what is that, curly hair? Oh, my, this is about...

"A girl? You're gonna confess? Oh, this is rich! My Donny's all grown up! Hahahahaha...!!!"

"Venne!" he let out half a scream, "Please, I want everything to be perfect for this. And I can't think of anyone I know who can play the part I need."

"And that part is...?"

"Pretend to be my girlfriend, to make her jealous," he let out a heavy breath, relieved to finally say what he needed to. I, on the other hand, am struck with a slight shock, and anger. I can feel the blood rush to my cheeks, making them red from rage. Some people might think I'm blushing from the offer, or nervous, but Donny here knows better than that, though we've known each other for less than a year.

"Venne, don't get all Tinker-Bell like at me," he refered the cute little pixie who gets red when she's angry, like me, "I have good reasons to ask this of you, and it's not because I get kicks out of it. Please, just listen out before you decide to slap or kick me, or pour something on my head."

I can't help but to cool down. Hey, deep down, I care for him. He's a species of his own in my book. Rarely anyone can change my mood so quickly, but it's a regular thing for him to do. And aside the fact he's a bastard, he's done me a few favors from time to time. So, I'll listen."Okay, take your time."

"Wait, no blackmailing? No threat?" he looked a bit surprised.

"Hey, I'm not always evil. In fact, some see me a goody-goody doer, unlike you," I rolled my eyes, making him chuckle a bit. Realising I'm a bit pissed, he gathered himself together and got back to the topic.
