Sebastian stared longingly at the bed. He wished to get in and fall into a peaceful slumber. He couldn't though, deep down he knew that as soon as he surrendered himself to sleep her eyes would fill his vision. Eyes full of so much fear and hurt.
He needed to sleep but he was afraid. Afraid of the eyes that he knew would haunt him for the rest of his life.

Vanessa had done her job, shouldn't he be happy?

He squeezed his eyes shut and bit the inside of his cheek.
What had he done?

Now she was gone, he would never see her again.

It was his fault, she probably hadn't even wanted to marry him, but he forced her, he insisted.
He had asked her in front of hundreds. She had to say yes.

Sebastian's eyes flitted toward his hands, disgust filled him, he had hit her. And now he would never be able to apologise.

He felt sadness grip his heart, it was his fault. She was dead, she was killed because of him.

He turned toward the bed that once, they slept in. He sighed and crossed the room. He had to sleep sometime.
