Day 3
Loba's POV
We woke up early in the morning so we could spend most of the day on the road. The village's chief fed us again, and we were on the move again. Well, that's probably the last time we feel warmth for a longer period of time.
Magnús' scouts shown us the way to the end of the mountain. At it's bottom, we'd enter the taiga biome. Fortunately, there wouldn't be snow there just yet. Good, at least we wont be freezing half way.
Bloodhound and I made our way down the path where Magnús' village traders would bring goods and other valuable things.
After some time of going down, we finally were on flat ground. The taiga wasn't as cold as the mountains, but it was still chilly in its own way. Bloodhound and I were talking about our village, and the modern technology going in the Outlands.
"Does technology truly have a negative effect on the nature and people, Loba?"
"Sometimes. It really depends on how people use the technology given to them. And to be honest, I miss living in that environment."
Bloodhound was silent after that response. Were they really that obsessed with the "Allfather" and their old ways?
------------------------------------------------------------
The taiga was silent, though we were still cautious. Bloodhound hasn't found any clue of a dangerous creature creeping around, I didn't spot anything suspicious. The sky was clear, with no signs of any sort of rain. It was a little bit windy, though.
Just as we were going through a muddy path, an arrow flew right in front of Bloodhound's face, and into a tree. They backed away quickly, and we both turned our heads into the direction in which the arrow came from. We saw a masked man, wearing a red cape that had an illustration of a golden bear. Arthur told us that Agnar's men had bears, and Steinar's had deer. The man noticed his arrow hadn't hit its target, so he turned to melee. He pulled out a sword made of steel, and his companion came out of a bust right next to us. The man's companion also had the same type of sword, but his cape had a deer. One man of Steinars, and one of Agnars. Now we don't have anywhere to run.
3. POV
Since the men surrounded them from both sides, Loba and Bloodhound turned their backs on each other. Bloodhound was to fight the deer, and Loba the bear. They pull out their weapons, also melee,(you know, Loba's staff and Bloodhounds Raven's Bite) and wait for their attackers move.
Both of the ambushers charged at the same time. As the deer was quicker, he attacked Bloodhound first, and as the bear was stronger, he attacked Loba with enormous force, but slow speed.
The deer almost cut Bloodhound's cheek, but they evaded the attack successfully, kicking the man back into the bush. He almost fell into it, grabbing the tree beside the bush for support, but he was completely open for an attack. Bloodhound takes their chance, and cuts the man into his left forearm.
Loba blocked the bears strong attack, and his sword literally bounced off of her staff. She slammed the other side of the staff across his face, making a red line on his face. Loba laughed at that. The bear was furious, and tried to land another strong slash, but Loba's agility was bigger than his strength. His sword dug into the dirt, and Loba smacked him from behind. Since Bloodhound's attacker was already out, a sudden bloodthirst made them growl, and they transfixed their tomahawk right in between the bears eyes, and he immediately dropped dead into the mud.
Loba was a little surprised by that sudden outburst of rage. She knew Bloodhound was capable of killing, but this was a different way of taking a life.
