explosions from outside emerged, the bright flames of red and orange soaking in through the large windows.
kenma flinched, rubbing his head into kuroo's chest. he's always hated loud noises.
"hey, it's okay. we're together in this, that's all that matters." kuroo lifted kenma's chin up and kissed him on the cheek, a fluster of pink flooding kenma's face.
the pudding haired boy smiled, "yeah. we're together."
the walls crumbled around them. it felt like the world was caving in on them, the sky rapidly getting closer to the two.
"hey, kuro?"
"yes, kenma?"
"thank you for ever meeting me. i'm happy."
kuroo let his fingers run through kenma's hair.
"yeah. i'm happy too. i'm lucky that i met you."
"if we're ever reborn, kuro, in some other world.. let's try meet each other again."
"i'd love to, kenma."
the two grasped onto each other's hands, letting their fingers intertwine. kenma rested his face on kuroo's chest again.
never wanting to let go.
---
kenma woke up, his head aching more than any pain he ever felt. he tried to look around, soon realising his leg was stuck underneath a large, stone block.
he shuffled around as much as he could until he saw something lying next to him.
dark, raven hair stuck out from underneath the same stone block kenma's leg was under.
kenma's eyes widened.
his breathing shortened.
tears ran down his cheeks, causing him to choke on his screaming.
was he screaming? he couldn't tell. a loud ringing ran through his ears, but he could tell his mouth was wide open.
the ringing softened, letting silence flood kenma's ears. the world around him was falling apart.
his world fell apart.
kuroo wasn't here.
his world was gone.
he was forced to let go.
