It was spring break, Izuku was taking notes in his Hero Notebook while muttering. "Izuku! Come on, get your shoes!" Inko screamed in a worried voice, causing said boy to stumble to his door, and down the stairs. He grabbed his shoes and his mother grabbed his arm with a shaky hand, pulling him out of the house, locking it and running to the car. "Mom what-" "It's the Bakugou's..they were attacked." Inko muttered.

"Th-They have Kacchan! They should be fine!" Izuku stuttered, watching as his mother started the car. "Baby, Katsuki was shot with one of those drugged bullets. He couldn't use his quirk." Inko said, now looking into Izuku's eyes with a pitiful expression. Izuku's eyes widened. He knew Katsuki was strong even without a quirk, but he's not good in close-combat, given the fact his quirk was focused on long distanced combat.

Izuku stared at his lap throughout the drive to the hospital. His mom had to step on his feet, which were in the car still, to snap him out of his trance. "Come on.." She muttered. Izuku slowly got out. The two walked into the hospital, grimacing at the smell of alcohol as they entered.

Inko walked to the receptionist and started talking to her. The receptionist gave her a slip of paper, Inko gasped and nodded, walking back to Izuku. "Izuku...Mitsuki and Masaru..they died an hour ago.." Inko whispered, letting tears fall as she shook. Izuku let a single tear slip from his hold. He lost two people who basically his second set of parents, he wasn't about to lose a brother. "Where's Kacchan's room..?" Izuku asked quietly. Inko took his hand and led them to the room.

Izuku stared at his childhood friend who was bandaged on his forehead, chest, arms, and legs, basically covered in bandages. It was getting harder to prevent tears from falling at this rate, he sat at Katsuki's bedside in a chair, grabbing hold of the unconscious boy's hand and bringing it to his face. "I'll leave you alone.." Inko whispered, taking one last glance at the teens.

Soon after Inko left, Katsuki's two friends walked into the room, small silent tears falling. They stared at the sight in front of them, it clenched both their hearts. They'd never seen Izuku cry, not even while torturing him, but here he was, fat tears falling from his eyes as he cried, holding Katsuki's hand close. The boys stood in shock as they saw Katsuki's free hand reach Izuku's face.

Izuku looked at the blonde, Katsuki smiled sadly. "I'm sorry..Deku.." He whispered, wiping a single tear before he fell limp, an everlasting 'beep' ringing throughout the three boys' ears as the heart monitor showed a flat line. The two other teens had to drag the sobbing Izuku out of the room as the doctors couldn't make him budge. Inko, who was currently on her way back to the hospital with food, didn't know about the situation.

The two boys cried silently as one of  (The one with the long finger quirk cuz he knew Izuku since they were five) held Izuku as he sobbed into his shirt. The boys sat down, Ako (Idk his name) and Izuku sitting on a bench, Izuku curled up against Ako as he slipped out of consciousness.

About ten minutes later, Inko came back, a plastic bag in hand, only to see a sleeping, tear streaked Izuku curled up on who she recognized as Ako, who was silently crying. There was another boy with black hair and black eyes, who was next to them on a small chair, crying silently as well. So, she connected the dots.

"Is..Katsuki uh.." Inko paused. "Yeah.." Ako answered, already knowing her question. A silence fell over the four in the hall, it wasn't awkward, it was sad.

That day, all four of the people had lost at least one person.

--{The Next Day}--

"Izuku, you have a letter!" Inko said, her voice raspy and strained. Izuku didn't reply, he simply curled further into his blankets. There was a faint knock on his door, he only grumbled incoherent words and listened as the door creaked open. "Izuku..I know you miss them..I do too, but they wouldn't want you to be enclosing yourself in your room, hiding from the world, would they?" Inko whispered soothingly, stroking a hand through his hair and frowning, setting the letter from UA on his desk.

"He broke the promise mom.." Izuku whispered. "I know honey, but look at me. There was another promise you made right? Tell me both of the promises." She said, sitting on Izuku's bedside as he turned to face her.

"Well..One was that we'd grow old together..the second is that we'd become heroes for each other." He said quietly. "Well..He might've broken the first promise, but what is Katsuki to you?" She asked. "My brother..my hero and inspiration." He answered.

"Then you might wanna read this. You can be Katsuki's hero too, Izuku." She said, handing Izuku the letter. The boy read the letter, his eyes widening and glistening in the dimmed room as tears built up in his eyes. He made it into the Hero Course. He could be a hero.
