Prologue

"Claudette, as soon as possible you need to get married."

My brows frowned from what I've heard. What the? What are they talking about?

"Pardon, dad?"

"Me and your mom, together with your 'soon to be husband's' parents already talk about this. You and Cloud needs to be married, or else the Alonzo's company will take away their shares from our company. You know how successful our business after the business industry knew that the Alonzo's shares with us."

Alonzo's company is the company of my 5 year bestfriend. Cloud Alonzo is my bestfriend for pete's sake, tas i-arrange marriage nila ako sa kanya?!

And above all, I'm still studying and yet I'm still on my 1st sem of college and they're talking about marriage!?

"Dad! You know about my relationship to Cloud. Dad, we're bestfriends. And I don't want to break our friendship just because of this arrangement." I reasoned out.

"The decision is final Claudette, you and Cloud will be married. Once you graduate on college, we'll announce your engagement. Engagement na muna because I know you still want to take med course. I want you to achieve you dream but in love, let me be your bridge to your soulmate."

Yuck! Soulmate!? Iw. Gross. Ba't parang ang diri pakinggan. Si Cloud?! Soulmate ko?!

"HOI GAGO! Alam mo na ba tungkol jan sa pakening engagement na yan ha?!"

I ask Cloud through call.

"Oo pucha! Ayokong matali sayo! Tang'na! Iisipin ko pa lang pag nakasal tayo araw-araw ko makikita pagmumukha mo parang nasusuka nako."

Aba!?!? Siya pa ngayon ang may karapatang mag reklamo ha!

"Hoi boang! Ito pakinggan mo'to. Diba after graduation naman ia-announce ang engagement daw natin. Wag natin ituloy." Nagagalak ko pang saad sa kanya.

"Oo pre! Magpabuntis ka! Para dun sa ama ng bata ka makasal HAHAHAHA" lakas ng boses nung gago.

"HOI TANGINA NG ADVICE MO AH! Ikaw nalang since ikaw naman nakaisip. Buntisin mo yung kaharutan mong salad!"

"Aw, di pa nga tayo kasal babe nagseselos kana" ma drama pa nitong saad.

"BWESIT KA! Bahalakajan sa buhay mo! Walang kasal na mangyayari dahil kahit kailan hindi ako mahuhulog sayong hinayupak ka!"

"Mark your words darling. One day, sisingilin ko lahat ng mga pinagsasabi mo ngayon. Make sure di yan mangyayari." Pagbabanta pa niya.

And with that, pinatay ko ang tawag. Kainis! As if naman mahuhulog talaga ako sa pangit na yun. Though di naman talaga siya pangit, pero iba sa paningin ko. Ampanget ampochi!

Pero pano kaya pag nahulog ako? Possible bang magustuhan mo din ang bestfriend mo? Lord, ayokopo tama na yung nahulog ako ng isang beses sa maling tao pa.
