The best people had the worst luck.
In some cases this was true. It certainly was true for the Midoriya family. Freak accidents always seemed to happen to the kind family. It was almost a curse although none of them would ever call it that. Midoriya Izuku definitely had the worst luck in his family. His dad left and he was proclaimed quirkless which was probably the worst thing that could happen in a society of quirked people. They were ostracized and 90% of them committed suicide by the time they were teens. Nobody hired them, most were homeless, bullied, or became villains just to survive. Then again, there had never been a quirkless individual such as Izuku Midoriya.
Smart beyond his years, he could have had an intelligence quirk but the x-ray proved he was indeed quirkless. His best friend started to bully him and yet he still faced the world with bright smiles. And then the thing that he thought would never happen happened. His mother died.
Most would call it a freak accident due to the family curse but Izuku knew better. And then his views on heroes changed forever. A hero had looked at his mom, saw her need for help, and then chased the villain. The houses in his neighborhood caught on fire as Endeavor was also on the scene. Standing amidst the fire was his mother. Izuku saw his mother die and could do nothing about it.

Izuku loved spending time with his mother. She was the kindest person he and anyone else knew. She might as well have been an angel. They were a happy family of two and Izuku didn't need anyone else.
That changed when he saw her die. Apparently his father had turned into a villain. A low level villain but a villain nonetheless.
So when the doorbell rang, Inko Midoriya grabbed her son by the arm and pulled him into the attic. She thought her husband had been in America but it seemed her luck was still the worst. The banging on the door grew more insistent. Normally, she would have been annoyed but now all she could do was fear for her child. She grabbed a box with engraving on it. It was fairly large and held many items. "Izuku. You need to do something for me. Honey, inside this box is a knife that has been passed down in my family for generations. It is a special knife. I want you to have it. The knife is sentient so it chooses it's wielders so if it doesn't accept you, you need to hold on to it. Give it to your children or someone you find worthy. In somebody else's hand, it can be dangerous so I'm giving it to you to protect. If it does accept you, it will be your best friend. Never betray it or it will then betray you. There are other items in the box as well that will help you. Look up the name Queen. I'm sure you will figure it out. Now, honey, I need you to run. There is a dangerous man outside so I'm going to levitate you down. Izuku. You must promise me that you will run, don't look back. Ok? Run." She grabbed her necklace and put it across her son's neck. Green eyes brimmed with tears as she opened the window and sat her son on the windowsill. " I love you Izuku. Forever and always." The green eyed boy shakily smiled. "I love you too mom. Forever and always." Izuku peered up at his mom before turning around and running into a nearby ally. Inko Midoriya turned around to face her mistake of a husband. "Inko dear. So nice to see you again. Where is the quirkless boy. He deserves to suffer after bringing shame to my family." The black haired man smiled cruelly. Inko hit the send button for the emergency text. " Your family?" Her voice grew dangerous. "My son and I haven't been part of your family for a while now. True family doesn't hurt each other. Not like you did to us." Hizashi smiled and embers flew out of his mouth as he laughed. "Well then. You should not have any qualms about me hurting him. He is not my family. But since you decided to be stubborn, guess I have to force it out of you." He brought his arm up to slam it down on her. Green forest eyes smirked. It had been a while since she had been in a fight. She met the offending item with her foot.

Izuku watched as sirens wailed down the street. His house was currently on fire. And his mom was inside battling a villain. A hero started to try and get in the house, getting flung back as the door exploded outward. A black haired man tore down the street. The hero got up, looked in the doorway, and furrowed his eyebrows before he tore down the street after the strange man. Izuku watched as the man skidded to a stop in front of Endeavor who let out a current of fire, effectively stopping the man but setting other houses on fire. He turned his gaze back to his house. He saw a glimpse of green hair in the doorway before the roof collapsed, effectively crushing his mother. Izuku let out a gasp. He froze for a minute, his mind trying to process what had happened.
The heroes didn't do anything but make it worse. Why didn't they do anything!? He stood, staggering back as he raced into the dark alleys, getting as far away as he could from the burning house. His sobs were muffled and choked out as he mourned the death of his mother. Why didn't the hero do anything? He saw his mother and decided to go after the villain. And Endeavor only made it worse. His mother was dead because of the villain. Because of the heroes, because of Izuku. If only he had stayed, he could have helped. At least he would have died with her.

A green haired boy with a hood looked up at the news. Dozens died from the fire and the villain died on the way to the hospital. His mother was dead. He fingered the long knife under his hoodie. It gave a small buzz, radiating warmth as comfort. He couldn't die yet. He promised his mother. And if he couldn't become a hero, he would be the next best thing. A vigilante sounded promising. He would need to train. No one else would suffer like him if he could help it. The necklace on his neck was ice cold.

An ash haired blonde looked at the gravestone. His best friend was dead along with his aunt. His best friend who had been nothing but kind. His best friend who he had treated badly. The blond squeezed his mother's hand and tears dripped down his face. He would become a hero. For Izuku.
Ok first part everyone! It is a new idea but I hope everyone likes it. I also need a little help because I remember reading a story about Izuku and now I cant find it. He has a cat quirk I think. I just remember this part where he saves a baby by jumping of a building because the baby just developed its quirk which caused it to float. It was Christmas but he threw the baby into a helicopter to save it and Izuku fell. Eraserhead ended up saving him. Just wondering if anyone can help me find it!
