Chapter 3

The sun is rising, and the light is beaming on Layla's face. She tries to pull the covers over her face, but her cell phone starts to go off. She had set an alarm for her to get up and get ready for work. She turned over to her night stand and grabs her phone to turn the alarm off. There was a cup of coffee and a note that read " Good morning beautiful. I'm at work, but I get off early today. Here is a coffee to start your day. I'm picking Chloe up after work. Have a good day at work. I love you and I'll call you later." Layla smiled and grip the sheets as if it was him in her arms. She loved the fact that she had a man like him. She didn't think they would last when they where a lot younger. Malik decided to be a U.S marine, and Layla was afraid of losing him. He was gone majority of their relationship. Layla had strict parents who would not let her date until she 18. Malik and Layla's love had been a secret for a few years. She was afraid he would leave her because of her parents rules. She was grateful, and she couldn't ask for nothing more.

Layla looked at the time and saw that she had to get ready for work. She was a waitress at Red Lobster. Red Lobster is her favorite restaurant, and she love the people in it. She loved taking orders and seeing them smile.

Layla got up and walked towards the closet. She pulled out black stretch pants and a black shirt with the Red Lobster logo on it. She threw it across the bed, and walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. Layla gets out of the shower and she gets dressed. She put put her favorite Twilight woods lotion on and Amber Rose perfume. She grabbed her phone, purse, and keys to her Chrysler 300.

  She walks to the car and unlocks it. She opens the door and pulls her phone put. She dials Ms.Morris number and closes the door. "Hello?" Says Ms.Morris. " Hi Ms.Morris, I was calling to let you know that Malik will be there later to pick up Chloe." Says Layla. "Okay how are you guys doing?" Asked Ms.Morris. "We're good, we had a really good time this weekend thank you for getting Chloe." Layla replies with a smiles. "Anytime, she was really good and I'm glad you guys had a good time." Says Ms.Morris. " Thank you, I'm on my way to work I'll talk to you later. " Layla says as she starts the car. "Okay sweety you too talk to you later." Ms.Morris replies back as she hangs up the phone.

" That was your Mommy. She says your Daddy will be here to get you later" "Grandma do I have to leave today?" Chloe asked her grandmother with a sad face. "Unfortunately yes. Your Mommy and Daddy miss you." Said Ms.Morris. Chloe sighed and asked " well can I come here next weekend?" Ms.Morris replied "We'll ask your dad when he comes and get you."

Ms.Morris walked towards the kitchen and grabs a bag out of the cabinet. She pulled a bag of chips out and called Chloe into the kitchen. "Chloe can you come here for a second sweety!" Ms.Morris sits the chips on the counter and goes into the fridge to get a juice box. "Chloe!" She calls again but sh gets no response. She put the juice on the counter and walks into the living room. "Oh my God!" Chloe was laying on the floor trying to insert oxygen into her system. She was having a serious asthma attack. Ms.Morris ran to dinning room to get Chloe's epipen. She ran back in to the living room and stuck the epipen in her leg. "It's going to be Okay baby. Breath breath breath. Grandma's here." She grabbed her phone off the table and called 911. "911 what's your emergency? " said the lady on the phone. "I need and ambulance fast my grand daughter is having an asthma attack!" Ms.Morris panicked and was worried about Chloe. "It's Okay baby. Your going to be okay." Ms.Morris said to Chloe as she starts to calm down and breath a little bit better. " Ma'am I need you to remain calm help is on the way." Said the lady on the phone. They got disconnected and Ms.Morris calls her son Malik. " Hey mom what's up?" Malik as when he answers her call. " Hey sweety, Chloe had a asthma attack. We're on our way to the hospital." There was complete silence for about 5 seconds. Malik finally responded. " Look mom don't panic okay. She will think something bad is about to happen to her. Talk to her calm her down did you stick her with her epipen? " " Yes I did." She replied back. "Okay I'm getting ready to get off in a few minutes. Which hospital is she going to?" Malik asked. " "Naval hospital" said Ms.Morris. " Okay Ill see you soon ma. Tell Chloe I love her and to stay strong. She's my little soldier. I love you ma take care of my baby girl."

Malik hangs up the phone. Someone knocks at the door. Ms.Morris opens the door and sees the ambulance waiting for them. The officers ask to come in and get Chloe. They lay her on hospital bed and lift her in to the ambulance. Ms.Morris goes back into the house grabs her keys, purse, and Chloe's bag. She leaves out and locks the door behind her. She gets into the ambulance with Chloe and hold her hand. She had a mask on letting all the oxygen from the oxygen can into her lungs. Ms.Morris takes Chloe hand and says " Your Daddy says he loves you and you are his soldier. " "I love him too " says Chloe.
