This one is about eefs painted nails and mark helping him paint them, I think it's cute idk🥺

Nothing in these one shots actually happened, and I'm aware they're not actually together, the idea is cute is all.

Ethan had been nervous when he first painted his nails. Not because he cared what the world thought, because deep down he knew nail polish didn't put a dent in his masculinity. It was just polish for your nails after all and he wanted to try something new. But he cared what Mark would think. He knew deep down Mark wouldn't make fun of him, his best friend didn't have toxic masculinity himself. Ethan couldn't help the anxiety that creeped in at the thought of Mark hating it though.

At the thought of being genuinely made fun of by someone he cared so much for. He didn't understand why Mark's opinion mattered so much but it just did. Showing up the day after he painted them to shoot a video, it wasn't even made a big deal, and Ethan was grateful for it. When Mark noticed, he simply said "oh sick nails" and they carried on with setting up for the video. It made Ethan feel good and he continued touching up on his nails after that. Though he eventually forgot, getting caught up in adulting and such.

As nail polish tend to do, they started chipping away. He kept making mental notes to touch them up but he forgot a lot. He tended to do that and eventually the nail polish was gone and it became a distant memory.

They had just finished up a video, and Ethan went to go grab for his phone when suddenly his hand is stopped by Mark grabbing it. Ethan jumped, turning to look at Mark confused. "What?" Ethan asked nervously, afraid he did something wrong. He didn't recall doing so. Mark looked at Ethans hand before looking to meet Ethans eyes. "Why'd you stop painting your nails?" He asked and Ethan tilted his head a bit and let out a chuckle. "Oh uh I've been busy. Kinda forgot.. why?" He asked and Mark slowly let go of his hand. "I liked them. Suites you." Mark said, and it wasn't even sarcastic either. He sounded genuinely honest. Ethan felt his face heat up, as he was at loss for words.

"Oh uh, I can repaint them now. Theres a bottle in my car." Ethan says, which was true. He had bought two bottles when he got the nail polish, one had fell out of the bag and when he found it he just never brought it into his house. "I'll go get it." Mark says while getting up, and Ethan just sat on the couch, kinda confused but not complaining. Ethan had expected maybe one of his sly jokes like "oh good it looked stupid" or something. Yet got the opposite. Huh. Mark walked in, polish in hand and Ethan offered a smile.

"What's up with you today?" Ethan asked, and Mark shrugged as he sat next to him. Mark was quiet for a moment, just staring at the nail polish before he spoke up. "Hey Eef, can I uh, can I paint your nails?" Mark asked and Ethan felt his face heat up a bit, but nodded. Mark would be touching his hands a lot. "Do you even know how to?" Ethan asked seriously and Mark shrugged. "Honestly, how hard could it be right?" Mark said and well, harder than you'd think. Not only did Mark manage to get it all over Ethans hands, but also on his own.

"Boop." Mark says while touching Ethans noise, leaving a black dot behind and he laughed loudly at it. Ethan frowns playfully knowing it would stain temporarily. "Maaarrk. That will take forever to get off." He pouts and Mark smiled fondly at him. "It'll be okay you big baby." Mark says, and laughs when Ethan attempted to wipe it off, only to smudge it more. "Uh oh.." Mark laughs nervously and Ethan pouted.

"It smeared didn't it?" He asks and Mark put down the nail polish bottle and nodded. "You're still cute though." Mark compliments, and pressed a kiss to Ethans nose before getting up to get a warm towel to hopefully help get it off his face, leaving a blushing Ethan to sit on the couch.
