Chapter 2: The Awakening

At work today, we found some sort of giant fossil. It rumbled a bit when we touched it, and besides that, nothing else happened involving that. When I got home and looked on the news, it said "today there was a death involving being crushed in the mines. Workers are still trying to dig out the body..." That was nearby but I heard no word about anything like that. Weird. I also saw on the news that some experiment in a lab escaped. Apparently it was some egg of some sort, and it hatched, and now its in the loose. This is all becoming weirder and weirder.

When I went back to work, we brought the fossil to a laboratory. They scanned it and said that "there is something alive in it". They decided to keep it in a metal cage until further testing. We got a raise and went back to the mines. We found part of another fossil and brought it to the lab for them to examine. They said "this one is dead" so we decided to sell it to a museum. After that we all went home, and I checked the news, and apparently there was a report of a "giant lizard" running around before escaping. It must've been that egg from yesterday that hatched.

I woke up the next day for work to find that the fossil in the lab broke apart and some organism escaped the lab. It was said to be 5× bigger than a human. It also shot blue rings out its mouth at the scientists which made them faint. So the organism escaped the cage then burst through the lab. We now have to mine and see if there is any more fossils.

Later...

OK so that was it and the day is over. I checked on the news to see that the giant lizard was destroying New York City. There was also a different lizard reaking havoc upon Tokyo. It was Godzilla! But a little smaller... I just turned off the TV and headed for bed. I thought to myself what is going on out there? Before drifting to sleep.
