Only Time Will Tell (a One Direction Fanfiction)

Chapter 1

Elizabeth's P.O.V 

My life is good. But not great. I've been living with my mum in Ireland for the past two years. I like it here. At night, you can see the moon shining so bright through the windows. It's just my mum that gets on my case. She hovers way too much.... 

"Elizabeth, get down here!!" I heard my mum scream from downstairs.  

"You come up here." I replied, purposely being smart with her.  

"Elizabeth, get your smart ass down here right now."  

I smirked because I knew I was making her mad..  

I walked downstairs just to see Rick standing there with his stupid cigar. He knew I hated those things. Rick is my mums boyfriend. He's an ass if you ask me...  

My mum told me how she had to go to a friends house for some Mary Kay shit and that Rick would be watching me.  

"Mum, I'm 17.. I don't need a babysitter." 

"Apparently, you do with the way you've been treating me and your future stepdad." 

"Ste...Stepdad?" 

"Yeah." Rick said cockily. 

"Shut the hell up. Mum?" 

She flashed me the obviously cheap and used engagement ring. 

"He proposed a week ago, I was waiting for the right time to tell you."  

I lost my breath. I couldn't believe the man that stole money, that does drugs, that slapped me when my mom wasn't home was becoming my stepfather. I didn't know what to do so I ran out the front door. I kept running without looking back. I didn't know where I was going or where I was, all I knew was that I was not going back. Tears stung my eyes as I ran, almost getting hit by a couple of cars. I kept running until I ran into someone. I collapsed into their arms, sobbing quietly. In a strong Irish accent he mumbled to me, "Come on babe, come with me."

Niall's P.O.V 

I was minding my own business, walking to my favorite bakery when I saw a girl running toward me. As she neared, I saw she was crying. She basically ran right into me, but I was ready for it. I engulfed her into my arms as her legs gave out. She seemed weak, like she had been running for hours. I didn't recognize her as a fan or anything so I was confused. This girl, I didn't even know her name, ran into me and I started hugging her. The strange thing was, I didn't want to let her go. I had butterflies and its not even been 5 minutes. I think I'm in love with a girl I don't even know.
