As I sat staring out at the lake, sitting on the stairs in front of my university, the cool, fall breeze shifted my hair to the side exposing my neck. I was waiting for my lifetime best friend, Taehyun. He and I had planned to go to his place for some studying.
"Why am I not surprised? He's early." Taehyun's car pulled up ten minutes early.
~Just a little backstory, Taehyun is late to nearly everything unless I am there. It's cute~
He parked and exited his car quickly, sprinting up the stairs to me.
"You know I could've just walked down and met you at your car?" I stood from the stairs, laughing at his sprinting figure. Taehyun abruptly stopped his sprint in front of me, staring deep into my eyes, smiling through aggressive huffs.
I tilted my head confused. "Tae are yo-" I was cut off by his hands grabbing my waist, pulling me into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me, filling any space between us. I put my arms around his neck, deepening the hug as I stepped forward into him.
"I know." Taehyun pulled out of the warm hug, giving me a light smile. "I just wanted a hug."
I giggled, still holding onto his shoulders as he gently squeezed my waist. "You're too cute." I smiled, cupping his face with my hands.
"Hey! Stop it, you're embarrassing." Taehyun put his head down as I let go.
"It's my job to embarrass you! That's what best friends do." We both let out a laugh as I started squatting to get my bag.
"Oh, let me get that for you y/n." Taehyun quickly reached for my bag, politely taking it from me.
"Thank you." I gave him a small bow to which he returned with a wink. Such a flirt sometimes. He wrapped his arm around me as he gently flung my bag onto his shoulder.
"Let's go, it's cold out here." Taehyun pulled me closer as we walked down the long staircase.
"I agree." I slightly shivered, moving into Taehyun's warmth.
"Do you have everything, missy?" Taehyun stopped walking to look at me.
"I believe I do. Everything is on my laptop. I'll be fine if I forget something." I smiled at Taehyun, grabbing his hand, pulling him along.
We got into the car, Taehyun opening and closing my door. Such a gentleman. The rest of the ride home was peacefully quiet with BTS' Black Swan playing softly on bluetooth.~
