"Are we the real ones who live in Upside Down, or are they?" That was the question being asked ever since those mages discovered a uniquely separate world beneath or superior to their world. The mages weren't positive about the location of this world, nicknamed the Upside Down. Proceeding to the question at hand, what did it specifically mean. It left numerous mysteries behind a single question.
Earthlings had begun questioning what the truth was. They demanded answers. But the mages could not prevent answers because they too were asking questions. Questions that would go unanswered. Questioning the situation was useless because either way, their world was screwed. The mystic essence that had made their enchanting world full of life was being drained. Why, you may ask? It occurred after the discovery of the Upside Down. The mages had neglected to inform their fellow earthlings how they had discovered the Upside Down. They exposed a gateway in an attempt to steal the mystic essence from another world, but they came across the Upside Down.
The Upside Down is a world that drains the life out of everything. How could that be possible? Well, it is quite a complex explanation. The Upside Down is a world cloaked in mystery. The definite reason for the Upside Down draining other worlds shall remain anonymous. However, I shall let you in on the secret. No world is a world if my world can not be a world. Does that make sense? Of course, it doesn't. Mortals are too single-minded to understand the complex world outside their own. Now, it would be wise if you stopped asking questions that you will never understand.
