Grayson offered to walk me home, he claimed that it was too cold. Ethan chimed in, wanting in on going in the snow. I ended up walking home with Grayson on my right and Ethan on my left.
"I swear to god Ethan, if you throw that snow ball at me I will actually tackle you."
"Who said I have a snow ball?"
"I can see it!" Grayson exclaims.
I laugh at them, "You two are like preschoolers."
They both turn on me, but I keep walking so they actually stop and look at themselves.
"Hey!" Grayson yelps and I hear laughing.
Someone sprints past me and before I realize it's Ethan, Grayson runs to catch up with him. I get a glimpse of Grayson and realize he's covered in snow.
I laugh at them, liking the sound after what happened. Grayson check Ethan into a pile of snow, pretty much burying him.
His feet are the only thing possible to see before there was a blast of snow and Ethan leaped. He stood, arms around his stomach, shivering like a leaf.
I burst out laughing even harder, wet snow sticking to his clothes and his hair. "Come on, when we get to my house I can warm you up," I tell him.
We continue our journey to my house, Grayson laughing at Ethan because his lips were turning blue.
By the time we reached my house, Ethan was chattering so loud I could hear him. We made it to my door step, my smile falling as I rested a hand on the cool doorknob.
I thought about it, I didn't want to go inside. I look back, Grayson was looking at me with a cocked head. Then I look at Ethan and he was about to freeze over.
I turn back to the door and push, warm air flushing over the three of us. Ethan runs past me, eager to be inside my warm house.
I laugh when he trips on the carpet, but follow. Grayson is behind me, shutting the door.
"Arrow! Mom was so worried and so was Tyler an-" Beatrice storms down stairs, coming up short on the bottom step when her eyes lay on the twins.
Ethan is shivering in front of us and Grayson is beside me, his arms crosses over his chest. He was standing in a very defensive position.
Beatrice had her mouth hanging open, "I brought friends."
I said that plainly, walking forward to face her. "And one of my friends is turning into an ice cub," I say, jabbing a thumb at Ethan.
He's stopped chattering, but shivering visibly. I turn around, Grayson moving up to stand beside Ethan.
Beatrice grabs my arm, "Can I talk to you real quick?"
I groan, "Grayson the hot chocolate is in the cupboard and cups are over the sink. Get something warm for your brother."
Grayson nods, shoving Ethan to the kitchen. It wasn't hard to find my kitchen, when they were chatting inside I turned to Beatrice.
"I thought I told you to stay away from them?" she hissed.
"Only Grayson, but he's not trouble at all," I snap, my voice low so the boys wont over hear.
"That's what he wants you to think," she snaps back, moving her hands like an Italian.
"What do you know?" I seethe through clenched teeth.
She stares me in the eyes, not saying a word. "Exactly," I snap, turning away and walking into the kitchen.
Grayson is leaned up against the kitchen counter, reading the hot chocolate instructions. Ethan is on his phone, scrolling through what I guess is twitter.
