Through one corner of my eye. I witnessed two males holding hands. They made it seem obscure, a little.
I found it pretty.
To sustain a mundane normality of this society, the romance has conveniently stayed hidden. But, they looked like they had no problem and stood as true lovers.
I smiled a little. But, it's a Sunday and I shall accept my smile.
I began to tread further and faster.
I starred in a scene amongst two dogs in witty love. It was indeed amusing to witnes as they scurried around my stiff legs, tagging each other with their paws. They growled and then whimpered with laughter. I began to notice myself becoming a pawn in their romance. So, I stepped further. Again, walking on top of leaves and insects. I claimed some sort of superiority because the leaves were lifeless and the insects, small. I looked at my right and saw a gentleman bellowing his love for his lady, on one knee.
He, also claiming a superiority greater than mine as his nervous knee blocked the chance of the ants invading the picnic he set out for her.
He asked for her hand, put the ring on her finger and asked her the elegant question.
Of course she said yes. I even liked his suit he wore to mask the doubts.
I turned away and thought to myself. It is an awful excuse of mine to choose a day to love the world for the sake of sanity. It's a Sunday.
But, how dare the world fill themselves with romance. I even saw nature flirt with each other.
Still, I remained calm for this hour in public.
Blindly, I casually followed my thoughts and drifted away into an alley.
I stared, peculiarly at an odd brick wall.
It all fell suddenly.
I saw at the nip of my terrored eye, a man. A shadow of a mere man. How foolishly he wiped his hands, believing his sin will fade away.
He stalked towards me and whispered, "You saw nothing, my friend. You saw nothing."
