Harry and Cedric

It's been a long summer for Cedric Diggory, he received the results of his OWL exams. They were what he was expecting, average, he got ten OWLs in total 5Es, 2Os, 2As, and 1P, but that was for divination therefore he didn't care so much; but like he figured they weren't good enough for his father Amos. So he got a long winded lecture from him about it. The other thing he, Cedric was agonizing over was his newly realized attraction towards other boys, not just anyone, but a certain boy in particular, named Harry Potter.

Ever since he accidentally won the quidditch game against him, and Harry fell off his broom due to the dementors, Cedric hasn't been able to keep the boy out of his mind. Every now and then he would catch himself looking over to the Gryffindor table during meal times to see him or even glancing his way if they pass in the halls.

So starting his sixth year at Hogwarts school is going to be different for Cedric. Having seen Harry over the summer, while going to the Quidditch World Cup was a plus for him, it had also made things worse, one his father was there boosting about him, and two it was hard to act normal around Harry, therefore the green eyed, messy haired boy was always in his this thoughts. While he enjoyed seeing him it opens a whole new can of worms for Cedric.

So now at Hogwarts and heading to the Hufflepuff dormitory Cedric has lots to think about.

The Triwizard Tournament is to be held this year, and Cedric is thinking of entering. There needs to be some Hufflepuff recognition, and plus his friends keep saying that he'd be the perfect champion for Hogwarts. So he's been thinking about it. So on Halloween night Cedric entered his name to the goblet of fire.

When headmaster Dumbledore called out his name Cedric was shocked to say the least. But excited at the same time. After hearing the Beauxbaton and Durmstrang champions names he was at a loss for words really thinking it was going to be someone else. But Cedric took the role of champion and is determined to win for his school which he now represents.

He went to the back room like he was told, and only a few minutes later expecting to see Dumbledore and the headmasters to enter, he was shocked to see Harry walk in, with a mixed look of fear and confusion swimming in those emerald green eyes. Fleur was immediately outspoken about Harry once the headmasters and ministry workers entered the room. They grilled Harry for answers about how he entered being underage. Practically giving him the third degree.

Cedric on the other hand felt very concerned for him, and oddly protective of him. Therefore he believed Harry when he says he didn't enter.

The month of November was crazy. He had to put up with those damn badges that were circling around the school and he would stick up for Harry even if he wasn't anywhere to be seen. Along with that terrible Rita Skeeter woman spreading rumors. He knew how terrified Harry must be, because he knew how scared he himself was, and he entered on his own accord, but Harry, he didn't, so it must 10x worse for him.

One day out of the blue on his way to class his bag tears and everything spills all over the corridor. He tells his friends to go ahead to class without him. It was two days before the first task and things were getting real he was thinking more and more about what it could be that they -the champions- would have to do. When Harry appears out of nowhere to help him.

"Dragons" Harry semi whispers to him. "That's the first task"

"How-" was all Cedric said before Harry was hurrying away.

Dragons? What about dragons? And why would Harry tell him? He -Cedric- is the competition. Fleur and Krum must know too, that was the only thing that made sense to Cedric about why Harry would tell him. So without Harry, he would be the only one who didn't know. Either way Cedric thought about what Harry said, he appreciated the tip. Even if he wasn't sure what they were to do about dragons, at least he knew something and wasn't completely blind going in. Cedric made a mental note to research dragons in the library as soon as possible.
