"She might not wake up, I'm sorry." An unfamiliar voice said as I tried to open my eyes, I couldn't.

"That's a lie! A joke! Right?" My mother screamed, "..right....?" She cried. I could hear her weeping, but I couldn't see her. I tried to move my hand to wave to her and tell her I was okay, nothing worked. Maybe my leg? Nope.

"We tried everything we can, even if she wakes up, we can't do much to give her a normal lifespan." The unfamiliar voice said again.

From this, I could tell that I was dying. From what? I don't remember. I don't remember much really, not even small pieces. I didn't want to hear those words, not one bit, and I couldn't help but imagine what my mother felt hearing them.

I try to move my hand again.

My finger wiggles a bit, then rests.

"Doctor! Doctor!" My mother cries.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"She moved!" She excitedly pointed at me. At least that's what I thought she did, it felt like it.

"You must be seeing things, I think you may be going through denial, it's normal miss."

"I swear she moved!"

I try to breath, it's hard. Another wiggle? Yes! I can!

"You're not lying," the nurse mutters, "Derek! She's moving!"

Another doctor comes in the room, I feel his presence. I shake my leg and let out a noise to tell them I'm trying to get up.

"Calm down, calm down, rest. You can't get up just yet."

My mother grabs my hand, it hurts.

I scream. My mouth wide open. I can't make any other shape than "O", but, it'll do.

She lets go.

A tube is put in my mouth to help me breathe.

(((Time Goes By)))

The first couple of days was hard to walk around, but I eventually got the hang of it. I learned how to skateboard again, and soccer. I'm back on the team, and the players keep asking about what happened, but I really don't know. They think I'm lying. My mother was very worried, although I told her not to.
