It was so cold inside, but it was almost always cold now so there really wasn't a point in complaining. Especially since there was no one to hear her complain anymore.

A sunbeam streamed through the window and Melody ran her hand through it. It wasn't warm anymore. She couldn't feel anything anymore and she hated it. Days blended into days and nothing changed. Nothing would change if she just let go, but Melody couldn't. 

Every time she saw him she was hit by how sad he looked. Well, he seemed sad. She couldn't exactly tell because of his hood, but she knew him well enough to know that he was hurting and that he was trying to hide it.

Almost every night she had seen him sharpening his knives through the window.

Every night she saw him leave with a grim determination to wherever he went.

 And every night she saw him come back with the same look of defeat. 

As if there really wasn't anything worth living for, which slightly annoyed her because there did happen to be someone who would make his life worth living and he lived fifteen minutes away in a trailer.

Unfortunately, every time he so much as moved towards the only person who would make him happy something happened. 

Suddenly it began to rain, or a large tree branch would fall in front of his path. There was always a reason for him to not visit Mech. 

She was probably having way too much fun with her newfound powers, but death was a bitch and way too boring, so Melody did the only logical thing she could think of.

Using her unlimited time and powers to be a petty and rather controlling person. 

 Life would have been a lot better and so much less complicated if she hadn't met Deadfall, but she had and now she was paying for it.
