When I opened my eyes under this pitch black water, I already knew that the whole world was destroyed- what I didn't know was that I discovered a completely different world under the ocean, miles below the earth.
I looked around and adjusted my eyes seeing nothing but black. I moved my hands and blinked. I saw the remnants of earth above the surface but I knew once I was under here; there was no going back to the surface. Besides, there was nothing to return to.
I swam aimlessly until I saw a bright light shine from under my feet. I bent down and touched it. God, it was a jellyfish. I closed my eyes, waiting for the sting but I felt a hollow in the put of my stomach, churning and I felt like throwing up. I opened my eyes and immediately shielded my eyes from the iridescent colours that hung like mists all over. Looking around, I screamed into the water. I had a tail. Swimming might've been my strongest trait but I didn't want to be a fucking selkie. I felt my tail being caught and then tremendously pulled to the ocean bed as my eyes widened and I watched my body about to hit the hard rocks but I passed right through.
"Finally."
I looked around and found someone smiling at me.
"Why do you look like me!?!" I shouted.
A sad smile swept across his face. "You'll help me yea? Free me."
"What are you talking about?" I swallowed the rising fear.
I felt myself being propelled forwards as he touched my face and passed through me and I watched my skin turn translucent and the water seemingly become tighter and choke my neck.
"Have fun staying locked up," he grinned devilishly and disappeared.
