First day of school (Read desc for TWs)

The waiting

       So after trying online school after online school, we decided to just screw it and go back to public, luckily, it was easier then we thought, and making the decision on Friday, I went back on Monday, (Yesterday of when I'm writing this, it's Oct 27th) I had woke up before anyone else, I got up and went to the bathroom to change (Keep in mind, I was on my period {I'm female} during this) and I saw OH NO, we didn't have any normal pads. So I had to wear one of the padded diapers to school! On the first fucking day! So I got it on, got completely dressed and took the pumpkin pie out of the fridge, heading back to my room and eating it while watching reddit videos. My mother had woken up around 7:30 and came into my room, asking me if I was ready, I said I was and she nodded and went to get my brother ready. Once we were all ready, we went into the car and headed to school. When I had gotten there it was about 7:43 so I knew I was gonna be late. I walked in and there was a pole like thing with a metal box on the tip of it (About head level for a 6th or 7th grader) and it had a screen that mirrored whoever was standing in front of it, like one of those face scanners in the spy movies, I was confused by this, and just looked at this guy in a chair, holding an old fashioned thermometer that looked like an old style grocery scanner that would be in the toys. He said "Well, take your temperature" and he motioned to the pole box scanner thing. I looked at it then back at him and just walked up to him and had him take my temp with the old style thing (So embarrassing!!  😖). Then I walked into the office, like mom told me to. They (even though I was already wearing a mask) motioned to the pile of masks on the table, thinking that was what I wanted. I shook my head and said, "No, actually I'm here for my schedule?" "Ohhh" The head mistress (That's what I call the lady that talks over the intercoms, answers the phone, sits in the office and crap) said, sitting back in her chair and telling me to have a seat in one of the seats that they had. I sat and looked around the room out of boredom. (There IS something funny that happened but I'll have to censor out a lot to keep my location and such safe) The school's name was (Censored) which stands for (Censored) which is an offensive internet term for something horrible (Hence the suicide trigger warning). I started laughing at that, and just then Mistress got a call, she picked it up saying "(school name) how can I help you?" And I started laughing again, thinking about if she answered with "(Offensive term) what's up?" And the person on the other end of the line was just like "...Please don't.". So I laughed at that for a while, then noticed it was almost 8:15! So I gave up on not being late. A few minutes pass and a kid comes in (Maybe a grade or two above me).  He tightly gripped his mask over his nose, it looked quite strange. Mistress asked her "What's wrong?" and I could barely hear the kid but I think he said very quietly, "I'm sad" And that made my day. The weather that day was horrible, very cold and icey, and it was only going to get worse (As why today school's cancelled) Neither me or my mom could believe they freaking held school during these conditions, but while waiting, I heard them making jokes about the horrible weather and jokes about how far they'd go to make sure no matter the weather they'd still do school which is just w0w.
