This was their usually routine during the summer and it had been for a number of years. Nolan would text Avis around ten and all the message would say is: “11?” and all Avis would say is “Bridge :)”.
Today was no different.
10:00 am- “11?”
10:03 am- “Bridge :)”
Oh wait, but it was.
10:04 am- “You know it :) Hey do you mind if Kelsey comes to?”
10:08 am- “Um sure I guess...”
10:11 am- “What do you mean ‘um I guess’? It’s a yes or a no.”
10:14 am- “Yes. I gtg ill see u there”
10:15 am- “Bye”
‘How could he!!’ Avis was furious. She was Nolan’s, Nolan was hers, and they were each other’s! And now he was bringing his ex?? What does this mean? Are they getting back together? No! They can’t!!
Avis doesn’t like Nolan like she would date him; at least that’s what she tells herself. But she won’t let him date anyone else either.
Avis changes into her smallest bikini, the one that he said she looked really sexy in.
At exactly 10:56 Avis hops on her bike and rides over to the bridge that is exactly between their houses.
Skeeeeee Avis skids her bike to a stop appalled at what she sees.
Kelsey is sitting on Nolan’s lap and they are making out!
