Wes was at his desk catching up on some paperwork. Eric had taken the day off at Alyssa's request to get Taylor off the Animarium to focus on something other than the Orgs, and Wes was thrilled that his best friend was doing something other than working.
The red was tackling a particularly difficult stack when he heard a knock at his door.
"Come in," he called, gladly pushing the papers aside as a man in his early twenties with brown hair and striking blue-green eyes entered. "What can I do for you?"
"Commander Wesley Collins?" the man asked.
"Yes."
"My name is Arthur Haarmann," Arthur reached out his hand and Wes stood up to shake it before both men sat down. "I'm looking for your help in a missing person case."
"Alright," Wes was curious. Most people went to the police with this kind of thing, not the Silver Guardians.
Arthur put a file on the desk. "My wife went missing nearly two years ago during a routine flight with the Air Force. They haven't done anything to try to find her."
M.I.A.? "Does she have anywhere she could've run?"
"Are you suggesting she left her post and me, Commander?"
"Anything's possible," just last year he was fighting mutants from the future.
"She doesn't have any other family and no friends."
"And the file?" Wes nodded to the object in question, changing the subject.
"The base she was at gave it to me," Arthur handed it over.
Wes opened it to see a picture of a beautiful blonde was a mischievous twinkle in her bright blue eyes. A twinkle that was very familiar even without looking at the name at the top of the page: Lieutenant Taylor Earhardt.

This is most likely going to be a shorter story than my other book "Journey Into Space" (which I will update soon). I got this idea one night when I couldn't sleep and decided I'd write it to help with my writers block for JIS.
Can we just talk for a sec about how adorable Taylor is when she gets excited? No? Ok.
