Cherry blossom petals floated down from the surrounding trees as the both of you lay down on the soft grassy field. Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu had gone to the nearest town to find supplies for your next mission, and you had been left alone to 'protect' Nezuko, but you knew it was for some alone time that Tanjiro had grudgingly permitted you two to have. Ever since you saved Nezuko's life on your last mission, Tanjiro had been slightly more accepting of your relationship.
"Nezuko-chan, get off me! I'm trying to read.." You sighed as the black-haired demon flopped over your stomach, kicking her legs contentedly. "You really are like a child." You chuckled, poking her forehead with the tip of your finger as she pouted, trying to bite your finger as rebuttal. "Maybe I should tie the bamboo back on." You teased, pulling Nezuko closer to you, her flowery scent filling the air around you. Jokingly nuzzling into you, Nezuko let out a contented sigh as she curled up next to you. Knowing that you and Tanjiro were the only ones that she could hang around without her bamboo muzzle was reassuring, and gave you a sense of comfort, knowing that Nezuko would never hurt you.
As you unwrapped a strawberry milk popsicle, you could see Nezuko practically drooling as her eyes gleamed, sniffing the air intently. Though she could not eat human foods, small things such as ice creams and liquids were usually safe for her, and you knew Nezuko had a sweet tooth. "What a pity you don't look hungry, I guess I'll just have to eat this myself.." You teased, peeling off the paper wrapping and licking the popsicle as you watched her glare at you with rage in her eyes. Suddenly, her doleful expression changed into one of determination, and she closed her eyes, head-butting you in the chin.
"OUCH!" You yelped as Nezuko caught the falling popsicle with her teeth, licking it happily. Jesus, you hadn't expected her forehead to be that hard! Maybe iron foreheads just ran in the Kamado family.. You winced, rubbing your chin carefully. Nezuko poked her tongue out at you, continuing to devour the popsicle. "Now you're really in for it." You smirked, lunging towards her with a bear hug and tickling her, causing her to laugh as she squirmed away from you.
Suddenly, she stopped laughing and turned around to face you, her rosy pink eyes staring into your own and smiled. Your heart fluttered as you watched her, this was the happiest you'd ever seen her in such a long time. Enveloping her in a warm hug, you kissed her forehead as the two of you snuggled up together..
And she sneezed on you.
And she continued sneezing. Laughing, you covered her further with the sakura petals as she sneezed, sending them into a pink tornado. Swiping out at you, she laughed, grabbing your haori and pulling you into the flurry of pink petals as you two rolled around, playfully fighting on the ground. You paused as you realised you were on top of Nezuko, and she gazed back into your E/c eyes. Lowering yourself down, she closed her eyes as seemingly consent as you brought your lips to hers for a soft kiss.
