george pov --
i got to school, early as usual, and bad was inside with zak working on some project. i wasn't allowed inside, so i kind of just walked around aimlessly. i put some earphones on and sat under a tree for shade, though it wasn't really that sunny. i whipped out my phone from my pack pocket to play some music from my playlist on spotify. when i pulled it out, i saw my reflection in the black screen before it turned on. i forgot about the bruises. they had faded a little anyway, the only on my eye was really the only visible one. the one by my chin was almost completely healed which was a surprise. they still hurt, though.
i felt the air of a bird fly by me, and it landed a few feet away. it looked at me curiously, and flew off. i smiled at that. i'm not sure why.
i only had my left earbud in, and somewhere a few feet away i heard someone walking towards me. i looked up. it was clay. his dirty blonde hair was all messed up, and his right shoe was untied.
i gave him a small wave.
"hi, clay." i said, with a slight smile, to show politeness.
"hey. are you okay?" he asked me, checking the bruises on my face.
"i'm fine. oh shit, i forgot the money to pay you back." i said, looking through my pockets. "i'll make sure to have it tomorrow.""yo, i already told you. no need to. my treat." he said, reassuringly. he sat down beside me.
"where's nick?" i asked, confused on why his friend wasn't with him. "he has a half day." clay replied. "where's bad?" he asked, and i told him bad was inside.
there was some bit of silence as we just took time to go on our phones. the atmosphere was thankfully not awkward.
i heard him giggle at a meme on his phone. his laugh is adorable.
i subconsciously glanced at him, thankfully he didn't notice. if i'm being honest, he looked kind of cute right now. the freckles lightly brushed on his face popped in the light of the morning. it made me blush for some reason.
i could hear a few girls behind us whispering and looking at him. probably about how one of them liked him, or how cute he was.
this is probably one of the reasons i'm more attracted to boys than girls and bi, girls get so.. gossipy sometimes.
