"Chased down by metal creatures and you're still by my side, even if they set free the beast, i know you won't let me die"

tears were never enough for niall when he cried because why should he waste them when he knows in a few hours they'll just reappear? exactly. the dry sobs that were heaved with each breath caused niall to quiver with silent convulses as the sadness ripped him apart like a monster inside him. and that was exactly what his problem was. he had a monster inside of him. as the clock slowly ticked on, the sadness faded and the non existant tears went away for the time being. niall wiped his eyes as he lifted himself from his bed and put on his shoes. whenever this happened, a walk is what he needed to clear his mind.

pulling his jacket over his head, he began to exit the room, before he tripped over the splinters and remaining shambles of his guitar. yes, last night he had finally cracked. after years of personal condeming, the strongest outcome that released the monsters inside of him finally won. now there would be no music left in a ten mile radius of his house, and he was somewhat happy about it. one less demon to worry about.

kicking the rubble aside, he quickly exited his house, trying not to dwell too long on the subject. closing the door behind him, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and ducked his head down, trying to deflect the nipping winter breeze that made his skin a little more flushed than usual.he hated that he was so pale. he hated his appearance. he hated his face and his tummy and his body and his teeth and eye color and just everything that was niall. he wasn't smart, he wasn't funny or charming or anything people look for in a individual. and he wasn't talented. oh, how he craved for the singing voice that others loath over and look up to as a talent and of him as a good person. someone who was worthy of wielding such a desirable stength. it was a luxury really. a lifelong dream that he knew could never be fulfilled with the way he was , and that in itself just might be why niall is the way he is. the fear and the inability. the fear that he knew would consume him and the sadness that would overtake him the second they confirmed his darkest thoughts and told him he wasn't good enough. because he knew he wasn't. and if he can see it in himself, who else wouldn't? and so it is now that niall horan has no association with music, and continues to grow darker with each waking moment.

just as niall's anger and self pity was about to bubble over, he was shoved to the ground, the world fading around him as his arms shot out to break his fall. however, this proved unsuccessful for niall's wrists had done nothing but scraped against the ground, opening the raw cuts and smothering the sidewalk in his blood. niall looked up and was met with a tall bloke with eyes filled with apology.

"oh my god, im so sorry. here let me help." and before niall could protest, the lad was lifting him up by his arms, his hands being coated with the blood of his winning demons. the man's warm brown eyes filled with horror, but was soon replaced with sympathy like none other had ever given him.

"oh my god..." the man repeated, looking at niall's flawed skin; and that was enough to finally set niall off, tears streaming down his face as the embarrasment of a stranger finding out his most valued secret overcame him, as well as a new wave of guilt, although he wasn't sure why it was present. as the tears rolled down, the lad pulled him into a hug, holding him tighter than anyone had in a long time.

"my name is liam payne. i don't know you, and you don't know me. but im here. and im not going anywhere. it'll be ok. you'll be ok." the man, liam, whispered in niall's ear, holding nothing but the truth, and only the truth. niall sobbed harder at the thought of someone finally saving him, as he wrapped his arms around the new found stranger. the world began fading at the edges and this set niall into another crushing round of tears.

"it's ok," was the last thing he heard before the darkness overtook him once again.

new short story based on the song "metal creatures" by Em Harris. I'll try to add the audio on the side but I highly suggest you go to vine or search up both parts on YouTube because I'm not sure if that was her intended purpose of the song, but I feel like this is a really good representation of that song. hope you guys enjoy.
