Out of the Blue

I awoke to take a deep breath. Sweat dripped down my forehead.

"Another nightmare?" Xion asked. He was still sitting on his stool in front of his painting. I looked outside, the clouds had turned a pink colour as the sun was setting.

"How long was I asleep for?" I questioned rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"A little while." He answered, his attention focused on his painting.

"Your awake." Someone else's voice caught my attention. I wasn't aware someone else had entered the room.

"Oh and Seoho's here, he came looking for you," Xion informed, although a little too late.

"Seoho," I greeted with a smile. The male before me always brought a warm feeling whenever I saw him.

"Still having trouble sleeping?" He asked sitting down next to me using his fingers to brush away strands of hair from my face. His eyes scanned mine. I knew he could feel every emotion from my dream. His mind was trying to decipher what those emotions meant.

"I get to sleep every now and then, I'm just still not used to this," I admitted. Seoho's presence in general allowed me to calm down from recent dreams. He admitted a soft presence, a warm homey feeling.

"Hwangwoong informed me about what happened today." He said sternly, avoiding my eye contact and retracting his hand.

"What happened today?" Xion asked curiously. I had almost forgotten he was in the room. He was just so silent and preoccupied. I turned and blinked at Xion forgetting what had happened myself.

"Be careful with them." Seoho ignored Xion's question and continued on.

"Amelia, she means well." He stuck up for her. That wicked woman wasn't worth his affection. She and the Queen deserved to drown in their own pit of karma. I bit back my words, but I knew Seoho could feel it. His quick glare told me so.

"Seoho, it's okay you don't have to explain. I understand it would be hard on her to have to share you." I shrugged, now owning up to my jealousy if that's what you could call it. Deep down I just despised the woman.

Seoho scrunched his eyebrows.

"Our marriage was arranged, it's not like I love her." He defended himself. Like it was something he had to explain. Everyone knew he wasn't fond of her, but he still looked after her like she was his lover. His hands entwined in mine. His pouting lips looked absolutely adorable. My heart was racing with just the feeling of his hand in mine. I couldn't help my feelings that had changed towards him. It was like the bond was bringing us closer, causing feelings I didn't want, to rise up and suffocate me every time I was near him. I let go of his hand shaking off the feeling. Seoho did too.

This was not right, but technically it was. We were in some way married, even if there was an ulterior motive to the marriage agreement.

"Shall we head to dinner?"I believe my brothers are waiting." Seoho changed the subject taking out the awkwardness in the room, he placed his hands on his thighs, using them to push himself up and start to make his way to the door.

Xion eyes shot open, he quickly packed up his paints.

"Leedo is back already?" He couldn't hide his excitement, jumping off his stool and practically running to the door.

"Well hurry up you two we can't keep them waiting." He shouted leaving the room. Seoho and I followed suit. Making our way to the dining room as we share a smile at Xion's behaviour.

Maids pulled the doors open as we walked in, everyone was seated at the long dining room table. Ravn was at the head and his queen to the left of him, following her sat Leedo and a spare place which Xion quickly filled. Opposite the Queen Seoho sat down on the king's right side. Amelia was already waiting for him placed in the seat beside him, latching her arms onto him as soon as he sat down. I made my way to the seat beside her these were our assigned seats according to the hierarchy. My eyes filtered across the room seeing who else was here for dinner. Hwangwoong once again was nowhere to be seen. His chair diagonal from mine sat unoccupied. Hwanwoong often skipped meals, as he couldn't stand being in the same room with the king and Queen at the same time, and because the Queen hated the idea of a mere soldier eating at the 'royal' dining table.
