I couldn't believe I was actually doing this. I couldn't believe that after all this time I had finally taken the ship! Mother has always told me that I wouldn't be able to fly it and it was safer for me to just stay put with her and James. Mother was wrong! I was flying and maybe I would soon be home too.

I never understood why James stayed around Mother. James was a 'family friend' as Mother called it. She would never tell me how she knew James or why we stayed on that stupid planet. I was free finally. I sat in the cockpit and watched as the stars flashed by in blurs on blue, red and every shade between. It was wonderful and beautiful. I don't remember when we travelled the first time and Mother never let me come up here.

I put up the blinders to stop the fast colours, it was starting to give me a headache and honestly, trying to get some sleep with that flashing behind my eye lids would possibly be the worst thing I have ever experienced.

I finally began to lay back in the Captain's Seat and closed my eyes with the hopes of maybe catching some rest. I don't know how long I had my eyes closed, it could have been minutes or hours but I know that the bright lights were back flashing behind my eyelids and I was beginning to get irritated. As I opened my eyes to find the reason the ship had opened the blinders, I was met with an unexpected sight. James was leaning over the console hitting buttons and cursing under his breathe.

"Is there a reason you lifted the blinders, James?" I questioned him as I sat the chair up so I could properly see what exactly he was hitting.

"Damn kid, what on earth are you doing? you aren't even suppose to be sitting in Mother's chair," He said grabbing his chest, I knew I didn't scare him that bad but James was always one for dramatics.

"Well since we aren't technically on earth anymore I don't have to answer that."

In reality, I couldn't answer that. James was great but having to explain to him that I was running away from Mother and trying to return home would only ever lead to him locking me in my room aboard the ship and turning around straight back to Mother. I pushed him away from the console and made sure to put myself between him and it. Almost as if my words had finally kicked in, he looked shocked.

Gasp "You turn this ship around this instant!!" He immediately went to take control but I blocked him.

"No, James please I am so tired on living on smelly earth. I just want to go home. I know it's safe," I pleaded with him. He was bigger and stronger, I knew just as well as he did that if he really wanted to he could move me like a child's doll being moved off a couch. "I also know that Mother isn't my mother, I just want the truth."

James looked shocked as if he never expected me to say anything about Mother. He shook his head as if to clear away whatever thoughts has entered.

"Well then. Didn't know you had it in you, V. So home? Not smelly earth."

I couldn't believe my ears. He was agreeing to take me home! I was going home.
