Facing It

Elizabeth's p.o.v

I have to stand up! I need to find this portal. Grabbing a bag, I left. I went to the lord's home.

"Halt! "I.could hear a guard shouting.

"Why are you here? "He asked sternly.

"Umm. ..I have to see the lord. "I stammered.

"Fine, I shall lead you to him. "

The guard led me into the lord's home. We went through a large hallway and than through a corridor. Finally, we stopped in front of two large doors.

"Sit outside. No playing here. You that? "

I nodded.

"Sit here. "

I sat as I was told. The guard left.
Now's my chance.

After checking if there were any guards,I slipped to a few rooms. But than again, there was nothing.  I thought of the bottom of the huge mansion. Surely, there is something below. I made my way downstairs.I walked down the narrow staircase. There were cobwebs. After a few more steps, I finally reached the bottom. In front of me were two doors. I tried opening them but they wouldn't budge. There was a hole in the middle of the two doors.
No. It must be in the lord's room!

I went up and made my wa to the lord's room. The door was ajar, enough for me to get through. The Lord was sleeping. I quickly looked around his room. There it was! I opened the glass casing. I took the amulet from its place. I placed the glass casing back to original place. I slipped through the door and made my way back to the bottom. Placing the amulet down, I waited. Suddenly the door creak wide open.I entered and saw the portal. There it was!I smiled.
How can I know if this will lead me t the other world?

Face it Elizabeth. It's now or never. I walked into the portal. I walked to the other side. Clutching my stomach, I could feel pain. I felt like vomiting. Felt like I could pass out. But I had made it! I survived. But now I was starting to feel dizzy.

"Aarrrr-"

I couldn't finish my scream. Darkness conquered me.

"How is she doctor? "

"She's fine but she needs to be here for a little longer. "

I groaned.

"Is she awake? "

"Seems so. "

"Hello? "

"Yes. .."I answered.

"Thank god! Phew, I thought you were dead than! "

I opened one eye. My vision was blur but soon, I could see someone's face.

"Ella? "I asked.

The person looked at me, confused.

"I don't know you. "

"Bu-"

"Now, now. I think she needs rest Madam Ella.She really does."

The person gave me one last look before leaving. I closed my eyes and groaned. I knew this would happen. Ella has forgotten me.
