A tree burst into flames as lightning flashed, lighting up the whole sky for a second before all went dark again. Thunder boomed somwhere above, drowning out the woman's wretched screams and pleas for help, as the waves pounded on the shore over the roars of the surf. The woma's footsteps were barely heard as she raed in the storm, screaming and crying for help, running around aimlessly, trying to escape, escape from the fate which awaited her.

She wasin denial. How could this happen? How could everything go so wrong? They had come here for a peaceful holiday, away from the horrors of life when suddenly this...this tragedy had occured. She still couldn't forget, the look on his face...tears streamed down her cheeks as she tried to clear her mind.

Spinning into darkness, she forced herself to let go. She was lost in this maze of life. Where ever she went, it would turn out to be nothing but a dead end. And this time she had gone too far, letting herself get caught in this stupid trap. She should have known but she was too blind to really see properly the reality of the situation. But there was nothing she could do now. Nothing at all.

The rain pelted down mercilessly, trickling down her back, mingling with her tears as lightning once more flashed and struck the clump of trees and logs ahead. Fire roared to life and she halted, trying her best to think of some plan. But it was of no use for she would be long since dead by the time any help arrived. She was doomed and she was well aware of it.

She knew that this was her end. And she had no regrets except for one. Her daughter. Her precious, sweet little baby who would be forced to grow up motherless. She was afraid for the child's future but there was nothing she could do. Nothing at all.

Eleana Xanthus' fate was sealed.
