I remember getting utterly bored one day. There was absolutely nothing to do. I had finished most of my work a few days prior, and my family went out to get some groceries. So, I was left alone. Typical horror setting, huh? Oddly enough, I thought of doing something stupid. I was alone, so no one would be able to see my stupidity or just simply laugh at it. 'Why not have a staring contest with a doll?' I simply thought. It was stupid, but it seemed funny to me.
I walked out of my room and dragged myself to my younger sister's bedroom. Her room was brighter and cheerful than mine. Then again, my room was pretty bland. Just books and figurines scattered around, accompanied by posters. Her room was completely different. It was neat. Her bed was well made, her toys were in her toy box, and there was some dolls on top of her shelves. I rolled my eyes and stepped toward the shelf. On top of the shelf was a doll with bright green eyes, curly brunette hair, and it wore a nice pink dress. That doll was the most prettiest of the bunch. The rest were worn out and sort of old.
I stood on my tippy toes and grabbed the doll, gently taking her off the shelf. I sighed with relief, nothing had fallen or had the doll slipped out of my hand. I quickly made my way back to my room with the doll in hand. "Alright." I muttered as I sat down in the bed with doll laid out in front of me. "Let's have a staring contest." I laughed at the stupid idea. "1... 2.... 3..." I opened my eyes as wide as I could, staring at the doll. My eyes were locked on hers and hers were locked on mine. Within a matter of seconds, I blinked. I pouted, but as I did, I heard an eerie voice emitting from the doll. "I won."
