A few wished their names would be announced during the reaping for the annual Hunger games, while more didn't. Between the ages of twelve and eighteen, kids, teenagers hold their breath to hear who would fight to either their death or victory.
Kailani Zale knew what it meant to have loved ones reaped for the games, since all of her brothers were drawn. Fortunately, all of her brothers survived, unlike many of their friends.
Since her brothers have rebelled, the Zale siblings are left without parents. It was told that it was a boat accident but the siblings knew it was President Snow.
Now at the age of her last year to have her name in the glass bowl whose sole purpose was to hand out death sentences. Kailani knew President Snow was out for her family. It wouldn't surprise her if it was her name only in the death bowl.
When her name was called, Kailani made a quick decision that she was going to win, not just for her family, her district but for everyone. She wore the weight of the world on her shoulders. But she wasn't alone. She had her best friend, Finnick mentoring her.
Time to start the fall of President Snow.
