Prologue

The manor was quiet. Silent. So devoid of sound that a wand could fall and wake the whole house up.

The different sounds from inside reverberated throughout the manor.

The sounds of Mr. Potter snoring.

The ticking of the clock as it struck 9:00 am.

Feet walking to the two bedrooms nearest to the stairs.

Then, Euphemia Potter's voice filled the hall as she got to the twins' rooms.

"James. Jo. It's the day!"

The two doors swung open. The one on the left revealing a tired, disheveled girl with brown hair and brown eyes.

The one on the right containing an ecstatic boy with glasses on his pale face and his famously untamable black hair covering his brown eyes.

"It's really the day?" the boy asked.

"James oh, you've been counting down the days since we got our letters. You know today's the day." his sister said with her voice full with exasperation.

"I know Jo, I was just making sure," he replied testily.

"Shut your yapping and let's get packed," their mother said lightheartedly.

The fast paced pounding of feet rang through the halls and woke Mr. Potter. He walked down in his muggle attire: a dress shirt, slacks, and shoes.

"Good morning. Jo. James. Big day. You ready?" He asked.

The twin nodded at their dad as they swallowed down the pancakes.

Jo finished, and gave their house elf, Hoopy, her dish and ran straight to her room.

She looked at the place she called home one last time knowing that the next time she would see it wouldn't be until winter break. She looked around taking in all the details from her room.

The lightly tinted yellow walls with the sunflower curtains.

Her little library filled with books.

Her broomstick and quidditch jersey from the only valid team, the Holyhead Harpies.

Her desk, dresser, bed and mirror.

In the mirror she saw the outfit she was in, a purple hoodie, grey shirt and jeans. Her frizzy brown hair up in a ponytail.

She walked to her desk where she opened the drawer and took out a black box. She opened the box and took out her wand: a 12 ½ inches. English Oak Phoenix feather. She put in in her hood's poket.

Next to her bed was her trunks filled with her books, robes, muggles clothing, and some money.

Sighing, Jo turned her back to the room and called Hoopy to help her move her trunks on her trolly.

Almost instantly Hooply popped in and grabbed the trolley and then popped out. After only a couple seconds, Hooply apparated back into Jo's room.

"Hooply will miss his mistress," Hoopy said.

"I'll miss you too, Hooply. Especially your pancakes," Jo said, already having gone through all the stages of grief at the thought of losing Hooply's cooking.

She got to his level to give him a hug, feeling a wave of loneliness. This would be the longest she'd ever been away from home and Hooply.

Getting up, she walked outside to met her twin brother and parents. They hauled a taxi to take them to King's Cross station.

They walked inside the station and stopped between the platforms 9 and 10.

"Let's go," said Mr. Potter after a couple seconds of silence.

Then they all ran into the platform.

I'm so excited for this book. Hope you guys are.

See you guys next week hopefully.
