It had been about a year and a half since ash died, Eiji attempted to wrap is knotted hair in a ponytail, but it fell back on his shoulders.
"Eiji, you should shower," Sing let out a short sigh "I'm worried about you."
Normally Eiji would go back to his room, but today he had to go to the grocery store. So
he gave sing a reluctant nod and shuffled to the bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror, he hadn't seen himself in a while. He was ashamed of the person he saw in the mirror, he really did want to move on from ash, but it was so hard. Ash was his best friend, he couldn't let him go, no matter how hard he tried- the more he thought about it the worse he felt, so he brushed it off.
Finally he slipped off his clothes, he had been wearing the same ones for a couple days now, and stepped into the shower. The water felt nice on his skin, today felt different. Somehow, he felt like he could get up and do something.

After his shower he put some new clothes on, wearing one of ash's old shirts because none of his fit him anymore, and ran a comb through his long brown hair. He wasn't proud of it, but it was just another memory he had of his best friend, so he never thought about cutting it. One day, all he wanted was to go one day living normally, he didn't want to be in pain anymore. He tied his hair into a loose back ponytail, put his glasses in the pocket of his jacket and headed out the door.
Sometimes he did feel like a burden- living with sing. Sing was always looking after him, he wanted to get better so a 16 year old didn't have to worry about him, he was almost 21 now- never-mind. He thought about the little things too much.
Finally he made it to the store, he was worn out from walking all that way. He skipped a few blocks to avoid the public library near his house, it sounds stupid but it makes sense.
Just as he was walking into the grocery store he heard something familiar, he couldn't make out what it was, so he just walked in. He grabbed some nattō, *heh ash hated that stuff, that idiot* he thought and a small smile cracked his face- but it was interrupted by a baby in the store whining. He grabbed the rest of the stuff he needed, milk, vegetables, rice, *that should be good.* He payed for his goods and headed out the door- but he heard it again, a mans voice. Maybe it was someone associated with ash's old gang- shit. He started walking faster when he felt someone grab him from the back-
