"Hey Elizabeth, how was class?" my roommate, Ash, asked.
"Ash! I told you not to call me by my real name!" I nearly yelled. "And class was fine, boring as usual, except when A and B almost tackled one another over a slide in science. How about you? Did your class get out early?"
"Yeah, the literature teacher was in a good mood today, so he said we could leave early."
"Are you worried about the ranking test tomorrow? If one of us changed ranks, then we couldn't room together anymore, and you're my only friend!"
"Calm down, E. I probably wouldn't change ranks, but if I did, it's not like we wouldn't ever see each other again. You're not only allowed to talk to your roommate, and I'm sure I'm not your only friend. What about L, I mean, I've seen you two talking before."
"Ash, that was one time in computer lab, and that was only because my computer wouldn't work, so I asked him to help me fix it."
"So what? That doesn't mean you two can't get to know each other. You and L are much more similar than you realize. You both love sweets, going outside when it's raining, hate wearing socks, and refuse to sit normally, even in public. That's a lot of weird things to have in common."
"Maybe you're right. I could try to become acquainted with L this weekend. Hey, maybe you, A, B, L, and I can ask Roger if we can have a sleepover! That would be so fun!" I said "I'll ask Roger tomorrow after the ranking test. We should find out the results on Friday, right?"
"A sleepover sounds like a great idea!" Ash said, excited "And yes, we should get the results on Friday. Oh, I was going to ask, would it be alright if I went ahead and took a shower?"
"That's fine with me."
"Thanks, see you at dinner." Ash said.
"See you at dinner." I said. To be honest, I was glad to have some quiet time to study. Ash usually takes really long showers, so I should be able to get a good chunk of studying done while I wait. Tomorrow's class was logic; and while I am good at it, I kind of hate it sometimes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One hour later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had just finished studying for logic when I heard Ash get back from the shower. It was my turn to take one, but that's when the dinner bell rang. Today felt awfully short, and I couldn't believe it was already 6:30, although I did only wake up 10 minutes before class started, which almost made me late.
For dinner, we were having sloppy joes, like every Wednesday. I had just turned 12 in May, which means I've lived at Wammy's House for almost 7 years, and throughout that time, the dinner schedule hadn't changed once. I didn't mind though, I've always loved sloppy joes, as they are my second favorite food (right after strawberry shortcake).
After dinner, Ash asked A and B to come to our room to watch a movie, and we ended up watching It, the Stephen King movie. Personally, I really liked the movie, but I found that watching A jump and cling on to B was much more entertaining. Honestly, I don't see what was so scary about it, it's just a clown. I guess that A has always just been the 'anxious-and-scared-easily' type of person.
Once we finished watching the movie, it was almost 9:30, so I took a quick shower so I could be back in my room by lights out at 10:00. I kept worrying about the test tomorrow, and I don't know why. It's not like it would be something that would completely change my life, and I was already 4th rank, so I highly doubt that I would advance any, but I guess you never know. At 12:30, I fell asleep so deeply that I couldn't even dream.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/n: Thank you for reading! Hopefully, I will write more chapters soon, but this one was written in honor of L's birthday (October 31). I plan on putting more action into the following chapter, along with Elizabeth making a new acquaintance. Don't forget to be awesome!
